How to change transmission oil / gear oil / transmission fluid on OPEL ASTRA G CC (F48, F08) 1.2 Hatchback 02.1998-12.2009 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
Transmission Oil on OPEL Astra G Van (F70) (01.1999-04.2005) / OPEL Zafira A (F75) (04.1999-06.2005) / OPEL Astra Classic II (05.2004-07.2009) / VAUXHALL Astra Mk4 (G) (03.2001-10.2005) / VAUXHALL Astra Mk4 (G) (09.1998-05.2005) cars should be replaced, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.

0:00 - How to replace manual transmission fluid on OPEL ASTRA G (T98, F08, F48)
0:30 - Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
2:10 - Unscrew the fasteners of the transmission fluid pan.
2:50 - Drain the used oil.
7:10 - Pour new transmission fluid in the gearbox through the breather hole.
8:12 -Tighten the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover.

Thank you so much. now I found my filler plug for my Chevy sonic 5 speed manual Transmission. I just replaced the driver side (left hand) CV half axle and some oil came out so I needed to fill it back in with the oil level plug out. .

don't try removing under plate... if you not mechanic... try removing under 1 bolt keep mind it's not coming out all oils remaing 200.300ml inside.. you need to put new oil without 200 or 300ml.less it' try it mind

Hi I've got a vauxhall astra j 15 plate when I start the car first thing it won't go in any gear and when put in reverse all you hear is a grinding noise once I worm the car up for 10-15 mins everything works fine. It goes in gear fine when the engine is off even without worming it. Do you think it just needs the fluid topping up or do I need to Chang something?

sorry i want to ask. why is my old opel astra when the engine temperature is hot I use it for a moment and then walk again, the gear shifting is strange. when the gear is backing smoothly the teeth are hard 12345 sometimes waiting for the engine temperature to go down can be the same and vice versa if the gear 12345 is smooth the reverse gear can't ... mengigan here rarely workshops that understand opel. when I asked the workshop he was told to replace the gearbox. is there a practical solution without having to replace all gearboxes

Don't need a gasket, enough sealant will do the trick. The torqueing isn't needed either for low stress components like this.

F13 and F17 gearboxes have no drain plug because the factory oil is filled for the lifetime of the car according to service manual. But if you have high mileage it's better to replace the oil

I would like to add (not change) oil for the transmission. opel corsa c 2001 gb f13 Firstly i unscrew the overflow screw ok? Can i add the oil from the overflow hole with a syringe until the extra oil come out? Or i have to add the oil from the upper aluminio screw until the extra oil go out from the overflow hole? Most Home Mechanics don't have use of all the professional equipment, it's most informative however l seem to always come up against a snag, And it always takes longer than these vids, and raising the car hight Enough to work comfortably and safely under is an issue ,please no nauseating music Silence is Golden, theres a song ,no don't play that song.🤔 wheres the xxxxx drain plug ?

Thank you for your comment. In this design of the gearbox, there is no oil drain plug; oil should be drained by dismantling the sump or by resorting to a vacuum pump. Best Regards, Autodoc team

Very bad tutorial. It should have started with unscrewing the fill point bolt (in this case the breather port bolt). That's because if you can't do that for whatever reason and you've already drained the fluid, you're in for a big trouble, as you can't start and drive the car anymore.

You can fill the fluid by unscrewing the reverse switch as well

Opel is really not a good car - gearbox oil change should take 15 min max. Why there is no easy way to change the gearbox oil? What a mess! I dont think I will buy Opel ever.
