I am starting my training tomorrow, with one of your affiliates. first flew in Colorado a decade ago, I was hooked immediately. After 10 years of watching paragliding and paramotoring videos i am finally ready to get flying. I've learned alot from your videos thank you for bringing integrity to this sport, Keep up the good work! I hope to see you in the air soon!

Excellent video as always Eric. It answered several questions, and brought up others. I have been searching for a video on advancing to a higher rated wing and what to expect when you do. I understand a little bit about active flying, and that the pilots input is necessary to keep the glider centered overhead. I think it would be a great video idea to show gliders with different ratings and how to fly them. Thanks 👍

Wanted to say thank you. After being furloughed from both my jobs in March 2020. I’ve been looking for something to focus on, a goal that’s been a dream since childhood. I was one of those kids that would find the biggest trash bag ( none worked) and launching of our roof. Looking back probably not the smartest, however, very fun at the time. After seeing Tucker Gott flying around on his McDonalds run it brought back that kid in me. Until the world comes back from COVID -19 chaos and I find permanent work. I’ll be saving to take your class and appreciate these videos. I am looking around for kitting equipment so I can at least start that part so when I make it to your class I’ll have some familiarity. Sorry for the long comment, it’s nice seeing a Family owned company doing great things in our World. It’s Humans like you that continue to shine in the world, keep doing what you do. Hope to meet and learn from Aviators in the future. Mad Love and Respect!

How far can you take a typical A wing? How far can you take wing overs, can you barrel roll an A or is it just too sluggish? Curious what its actual limits are, if you are willing to push it.

i get that for some pilots their goals with paramotor and where they want to specifically go in terms of flying style etc, those goals would make an en-a not ideal, but for the vast majority of paramotor pilots, the reason we fly us to be able to essentially sightsee, no? so for me, an en-a is actually maybe the most ideal because it allows me to have the room, mentally, to focus some of my concentration on filming or viewing whatever landscape it is im flying over, with the wing remaining very stable the entire time. the thought that oh it will get boring becsuse it's slow is imo, is a misguided and unwarranted fear because rarely are most pilots, it seems at least trying to cover loads of cross country ground where speed is what would be primaryly important... i mean, if that was your main goal with flying most of the time, seems to me you would be better off choosing a different aircraft, like a weight shift trike, an autogyro or an lsa over a paramotor...., so yeah, i guess my general thought is that for most pilots its a mistaken fear and really shouldnt be worried about, that you will become "bored" with your wing..... great video btw. thx for it.

You mentioned loading up a en-a wing out of its certification, just wondering what does that mean if if one adds 30 to 50 kg above its certification is it now a en-b. Asking for a fat friend.
@ryandinan
@ryandinan 4 жыл бұрын
No, not necessarily... Overloading any wing will more likely remove it from passing all the tests required for certification. For example, the Roadster 3 is a B wing, but it only scored a "B" rating in two of the numerous tests - it scored an "A" in everything else - and it only gets these scores at a particular trim setting and weight. You go outside those, you're suddenly "unrated". It doesn't mean it's as unsafe as a glider that never went through any testing, but it definitely changes the dynamics enough that it may not do what it's supposed to do, in certain situations.

Dell Schantze is arguing that reflex wings are unsafe, is he right or is he wrong?
@aviator
@aviator 2 жыл бұрын
We won't argue that traditional gliders that are beginner rated are the safest option (which is why we train on them). However, stating that any other glider than one sells will injure, or kill you (when they hold actual ratings for beginnners) is solely salesmanship.

@@firedavin Hey man, I can relate. A lot of people may not realize that some people are in a position in which $10k might be equivalent to $1 million dollars to other people. The best thing to do is just start saving every penny...... literally!! Don't go into the money for any reason whatsoever. Even if you only have a few dollars every few weeks, save it. After some time you will realize that it's starting to add up and that in itself is encouragement to save even more. Sometimes just getting to know people that are into a sport can help you put yourself in a position in which you can make more money than you ever thought possible before. Also, once you know people that are involved in the sport, you are more likely to get a great deal on some good used equipment. I grew up very poor and I am only middle class now but I'm speaking from experience. You can do it but you have to take those initial steps, no matter how small they seem at the beginning. Can't wait to hear your story once you are up in the air!! Best of luck and God bless..........

@@notlisztening9821 I agree, if you think about it, $10k is around $250 a month. As long as your not buying a expensive car or living outside your budget, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm single no kids so I don't know about a person with kids.

The thing that is never answered or even tackled, is what size of wing to get, I know there are a number of variables but can you not just write out those variables I weigh this much, if I choose this machine, what size wing should I get if I choose this wing, you guesstimate usual clothing and accessories and reserve and suggest a wing size, that's what we really want to know, is it a secret ? Is there not a widget ?,

That's just it, you have all this experience, so can probably make a good guesstimate based solely on the body weight and maybe paramotor brand, the rest you must kind of know, enough to determine between a 24 or 26 ? Why would talking make a difference ?

While the "A" Beginner wing is slower, isn't that a good thing for a beginner? Landings and takeoffs are slower and if by chance they are about to fly into something, there's more time to react and if they fail, the speed of impact is a whole lot slower.

@BobDiaz123
@BobDiaz123 4 жыл бұрын
@@Lucre993 Your answer doesn't make any sense, yes gravity is the same everywhere, BUT the amount of lift a wing will produce for a given air speed will vary with the wing. Thus, lots of lift means slower forward air speed, but limited lift means faster forward air speed. This was covered in the video, did you watch it?

@Bob Diaz When you say ( Speed of impact is a whole lot slower ) just sounds so wrong . ie : Gravity is Gravity 🤔 try not to get upset no biggie to me but when I have done bad landings on my A wing (speed and impact ) was not noticeable different 🤕 at the time. have a good day 👍

Paul Ellwood I think you're looking at vertical speed and I'm looking at horizontal forward speed. If someone is about to hit a tree, a beginner Wing going 20 MPH is better than going say 40 MPH in a faster wing. That was the point I was trying to make.
@Lucre993

"How to Choose the Right Paramotor Wing". lets all think about this as if its a car... all cars and brands are different. it all depends on the person.and they can change the car for a newer car or older car. there's no right way .but your way of choosing... "live and learn. u either learn the easy way or the hard way." another thing as time passes by.. there's always newer type wings. that are supposed to be better.and by my experience all the different brands of manufacturers they make.. the set up worse. more complicated .instead of ease of use.. its hard of use. ill give u an example where the risers connect to the carabiners the lop why don't they color that in red? so when laid on grass it can be seen more effectively. i know paramania use to have there wings like this.

Since the upgrade, I can't get it to work anymore!" That's why everytime I see an advisory to "Click Here for Upgrade" I never do. They just can't leave well enough alone!
