There is a little set screw on the fan blades just undo that and you can wash it quickly and be able to get farther up to clean housing as well.

So, how do you clean the lens? This is the only difficult part. The fan is so, so much easier to clean with it removed. Like others have mentioned, theres a set screw that loosen the fan from the shaft. Once out, I just vacuum the screen with the brush attachment, this seems tondo a great job, but you can wash it, too, if its really bad. Thanks.

@@1nghost If you have a Max fan, the screen is round and there are four round posts that you turn to release the screen and its plastic frame. This gives access to the fan which can be removed for easier cleaning, but be careful how it goes together and of small parts. There are UT videos by others that show this process. If you're asking about the set screw in the fan's collar, it's an Allen wrench that you will need. Be very careful to have the correct size as it can be easily stripped with an undersized one. I think it was metric that fit the best, but I can remember for sure. When you put it back together, mind that the set screw must engage the flattened side of the motor's shaft, or it will come loose. That could be noisy and destructive. Yikes! Good luck.

I use an old toothbrush on the fan blades

That would be a good idea to get into the crevices of the fan blades for sure!!

Editing advice, when you do a cut shot from you talking to a shot of the fan, make sure you carry over some background noise from when you were talking. That way there isn't a weird silence and the audio isn't going from loud to nothing back to loud.
