How to clean and cook butter clams on the half shell

If you haven't had butter clams this way you're in for a treat. The one thing that I didn't tell you in the video is. If you are at home fry them in a pan in butter then flip them over and put other toppings on them like parmesan cheese chives ect. Then bake in the oven.

This seems like the best way to not waste the clam while removing a lot of the nasty stuff and it looks tasty! I am impressed!

Looks so yummy, my dad just did flower with no egg, and butter. Now we've "upgraded" to using the panko/bread crums for deep frying fish. I just need to get some butter clams.

So do you just keep them on ice from the shore and then do this step when you get home?

I keep them in water but, use them in a day or they will slime up the water then do that step. You want them to be as fresh as possible so you can cut them in two halves more easily.

@@seasonaloutdoorswitherin297 I've eaten small ones right out of the shell; just cut away the gut, rinse in saltwater, and down the hatch!
