You should definitely have been using a PEC pad wrapped around the cotton tip so you don’t scratch the lens… and there was way too much alcohol, there shouldn’t be any streaks on the lens surface. Streaks will defocus the laser dot

I have a mc1325 laser machine and I'm having g a hard time finding where to place the focus lens in the tube, there are 2 metal rings, do I place it in the higher area with ring or in the lower one or how do I find out which one is best? Thank you very much for your time.

Hi, it's a very professional question. You seem a laser pro. Technically it is possible. But in reality, using a high-quality laser tube or optimizing the machine structure are the more reliable and mature ways to get higher cutting precision(thinner light beam). In actual operation, you need to consider the material thickness, thinner laser beam is difficult to cut through thick material.
