I used the Solution product and it did stain may IVD shocks slightly. What do you recommend to remove or help make that look better?

At what dilution? We’ve not had that happen ever at 4:1 dilution.

@@tonysalvemini3350 4:1 should always be safe. It might have slightly dried on the shock which can leave some residue. If you can, email us a picture so we can give you directions on how to clear that up. Send to info@shinesupply.com

@@SHINESUPPLY on your website it says to use solution at 1:1 for under carriage. Is that not safe?

@@georgetowers7360 Solution at 1:1 dilution is safe for your undercarriage. Avoid cleaning raw aluminum shocks at this dilution - use 4:1 for raw aluminum.

What about if you apply clutch instead of classy chassis is that safe and better ?

I don’t recommend Clutch. Main reason is it would cost you double, maybe triple the cost in product. And you wouldn’t get any better benefits from using Clutch over Classy Chassis on the undercarriage. Clutch is more beneficial for all the exterior parts of the vehicle; paint, trim, bedliner etc. being that it has protection in the product. All these surfaces mentioned are exposed to damaging UV rays and Clutch helps protect these surfaces. The undercarriage on the other hand doesn’t need protection from UV. The goal for the undercarriage is aesthetics and easy clean up during future washing. Most people ignore the undercarriage on trucks and it drastically takes away from the overall aesthetic appeal of the truck.

I like classy chassis on the whole undercarriage except for plastics. In my experience it makes it so no other product will ever work on the plastic again

Interesting, we haven’t had that issue. On plastic inner fender well liners it’s worked incredibly well for us in our detail shop. What plastic components have you had issues with?

@@SHINESUPPLY I’ve had the problem on fender liners and fuel tanks. Classy chassis will make them look perfect again, but if I try to use something like trim shine or decked out on the next detail it will look all splotchy. Like it’s not able to soak into the plastic anymore. But on plastic that I’ve never applied classy chassis to, the other products will soak in and work just fine. I also had the adhesion problem when I tried to use Carbon Collective Sateen on fender liners that previously had classy chassis and Detail Division said that solvent based sprays can cause water based products to not adhere anymore

@@Duramaxjon makes perfect sense. I don’t look at that as a bad thing…I don’t want to ever use water based dressings on the undercarriage because they’re “water soluble” and don’t last. The solvents in dressings like Classy Chassis are intentionally placed in the blend to resist washing and detergents so they last longer. That’s why I suggest sticking with Classy Chassis only for undercarriages. We’ve done this for years and our trucks look like new underneath.

@@SHINESUPPLY Okay, makes sense. I’ve been using classy chassis for many years and I love how it works on all the undercarriage components, I was just a little thrown off when I had the adhesion problems with other products

What would happen if I used Shift on a car with a sealant?

Works completely fine but we suggest Shine Soap for vehicles that are sealed.
