How dirty are your hot tub filters? As water circulates through your hot tub, your filters trap contaminants - everything from dirt to hair to dead skin cells. But over time, your filters become more and more dirty. And dirty filters pick up less debris and contaminants, leaving that contaminated water to circulate back into your hot tub.
Spraying your filters with a garden hose once per week is a great way to keep your entire filtration system flowing. But once in a while, you’ll need to do a deeper clean to remove all of the buildup inside your filter pleats.
So here’s a quick, step-by-step walkthrough on how to clean your hot tub filters using the weekly quick rinse method, the monthly cleaner spray, and the quarterly deep clean soak.

I have to change my filter once a week because of the iron in the water. What do you suggest? Will a cleaner get rid of the iron build up in the filter or do I have to just keep replacing them?

Hot tub filter cleaner is so expensive these days, it’s almost the cost of a new filter. Just pop out a new one costs me about $5 more but is so much easier

Is there any filter cleaner that doesnt cause foaming? I put in a cleaned filter in to a freshly filled hot tub and it instantly started foaming out of control. I rinsed it, soaked the filter in fresh water over night, let it air dry and it was still foaming like crazy.

In my exp I just use a defoamer. U only need a small squirt. I have a 7foot round tub and one quick suqqzw deals with like 90% of the foam. Just another quick squeeze for the rest...

If it’s foaming after the filter cleaner and your chemicals are balanced then it’s most likely your filters dirty and it’s time to be replaced
