Can i use handwash?

I use retainer for 4 months now but for the first 2 months I didn't clean retainers at all that on the third month really really hard cavities started developed..it makes cleaning so hard😭 idk what to do now😭

I did it wrong for my whole life :( i use toothpaste and that dental tablet cleanser. I bought the tablet online but I asked the seller first if I could use it for retainer and they said yes :( I'll use my body wash for tomorrow. Thank you for the tips. My ortodontist didn't help me, I asked her how long should I use retainer and she said for a year. I read and watch a lot video about retainner, they said retainner are used for the rest of our life :')
