In this video we are going to see how to using mobile port VLAN feature in Alcatel lucent switches to dynamically assign VLAN to any specific port.
Dynamic VLAN port assignment is generally used on access port for auto voice VLAN assignment.

I have an alcatel lucent os6560 and I want to configure the voice vlan but I don't see the mobile port command.

Yes. Alcatel changed the software code on the newer switches so mobile VLAN is not available in the newer code. You will have to use UNP ports for voice VLAN. I will make another video on how to use UNP for voice VLAN soon.

Thank you , i have question plz. when i write memo it show me " you can not do that in certified mode " i need to reload from working/boot.cfg no rolbak , then i can see the show running directoy is working then i can save , but when i reload switch it back to certified and nothing saved only if i typed copy working certified ... no solution for that ?? i want my switch work with working directory direct

Ideally you should always run the switch from working directory because the only way to save or make changes to the switch are allowed when the switch is running from working directory. Also, when there is some sort of mis configuration in working directory and the switch can not read config.cfg file then the switch will load from certified directory. This is kind of fail back option as certified directory always holds last running config on the switch. When you make changes while in working directory make sure to save the changes using following commands -- write memory -- reload working no rollback-timeout these commands will save and reload the switch from working directory. Once the switch loads then enter the following command to save the config permanently to certified directory. -- copy working certified flash-synchro I hope that answers your question :)

Hi, this is strange, when you did show vlan port 1/1, whey did you see both vlans 1 and 2 on same port 1/1 ? Also data Default and voice mobile ? Since the ports are mobile and mac filtering is created for vlan 2, are you supposed to see vlan 1 on that port when just a phone is connected on that port? Secondly, does that mean that port 1/1 is configured as a mobile port to carry more than one vlans?

Yes, if the port is configured as mobile port then you will see both vlans on the port provided both vlans are in use that means you have a phone connected to port1/1 and then a pc is connected to the same phone which is connected to port 1/1 . If you have only pc connected or phone connected then you will only see respective vlan. Mobile vlan is dynamic vlan it will only shows vlan on the port when it satisfies the mac filtering condition.

Hi Bro, Earlier Alcatel switch we were using port called "general" and was used phone and data, But newer switch like OS6450 don't have general anymore is there any other way that we can use?

Hi Suraj, Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately I didnt had a chance to get my hands on one of those switch. But while researching about it I found that the code is degraded and longer comes in any of the new switches.There is no way on the newer code to use general command but you can achieve the same using vlan X port default 1/x (this is same as pvid and untagged in general command) and vlan X 802.1q 1/x (this is same as general allowed vlan add X-X tagged I hope that answers you question.
