In this video we are going to convert our bicycle to an electric bike by using brushless motor.
This homemade electric bike can cross 60 km/h with a range of 20km on a single charge. The bicycle is powered by a brushless motor that we took from an old hoverboard. The motor is connected to the rear wheel using chain.
To power the motor we have used a 3kw BLDC motor controller and for the battery pack we have designed and built our own lithium ion battery packs.

Your bike looks fantastic. Those 3d printed parts make it look great and sorting the wires out was a great improvement. I have seen a few bikes that can go really fast and i really like them. I'd love to see one that goes fast enough but can go a huge range. Maybe have a small bike trailer for more battery storage. Keep up the good videos, they are very helpfull.

Nice idea, well done. The only thing is having that motor spinning so close to your feet could be dangerous. So perhaps some kind of cover to protect your feet and legs.

The hooverboard motor only 36V, with 15km/h runs. Did you rewinding the motor to get higher voltage?

I'm very surprised that the hoverboard motor makes that much torque and speed. What brand, model hoverboard did it come off of? And what size sprocket was used on the rear wheel? Well whatever was used, it looks like it was perfect for allowing plenty of speed and plenty of torque also. But please reply if you can answer my questions. Thanks!!
