Good idea. Very useful if it’s raining or there’s loads of midges and you can climb into the drivers seat without going outside

Brilliant solution to the one drawback of the boot jump... not being able to drive in sleep mode. Unless I suddenly get rich and can afford a new Berlingo Xl, which does allow the extra space to leave driving seats in position, I will do this clever conversion. Thanks, great vidio... now let’s get this lockdown over, open the campsites and get to the coast! Cheers, take care, Simon. Oh and the window stores are my next Amdro purchase!

You've solved the problem before I'd realised it was there. I'm only just learning boot jumps and hadn't realised I couldn't just jump in the front seat. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow. Huge thank you

Found the Facebook group, thanks. Berlingo is in van mode at moment, collecting firewood. Once back in camper van mode will take photo of ‘Bertie’ and t shirt 😊

Borrow a track saw off someone and make perfect cut in a minute. Surprised Buster Jessdaft used a handsaw!

A berth is a bed, usually stacked like bunk beds, on a train or a ship

Excellent mod. Handy as you can set up before you leave home and not have to faff about when you arrive somewhere. I had thought of the same thing for mine but didn't have the balls to cut it. Is it still stable in twin mode or would you need some kind of bracket to join the 2 pieces together?

Crazybear Kaiser I didn’t even bother with the Velcro straps, as it’s easy enough to open up/close... it’s seems stable enough to me and once cushions are in place, spreads the load... proof of the pudding and all that... watch this space. Thanks for your comment...

Just got my 1st berlingo 2011 xtr, managed get 2nd hand Amdro the same week. Not played with yet due to weather. Will be doing this mod, as if I'm with wife double is excellent, but if on own large golden retriever will be with me, like idea of doubling up cushions so he is not ruining things. Can I ask, did you find a need to strap the main sections together when both in sofa mode, or were they solid once cut ?. And now years on, anything you would done instead ? Thank you again, and off to check out your back log vids.

Firstly thank you for your comment, much appreciated… you’ve made a great choice in base vehicle and the boot jump is a great piece of kit, which I got many years enjoyment out of (I now have a T5 camper… CasperVanLife ). I did use a strap, yes, to hold the 2 sections together, but not necessary. The side window storage units are a great addition for additional storage. My only advice would be, don’t be afraid of modifying the boot jump to suit your needs, have a specific place for every item of kit and make sure you have what you need for nightime, before converting to sleep mode 👍

What kind of saw did you use to cut it into 2 and with it being in two halves where the support legs are at the back of the seats what kind of strain is put on them. Did you use a sander to bevel all the edges and did you finish all the raw edges with linseed oil🤔🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍👍

Simon longman I used a good (sharp) hand saw, a sander and have yet to buy and apply the boiled linseed oil... with the cushions in situ, the strain applied is much as it was before. I would only be resting my shoulders and head in this section, so not a lot of weight. I wouldn’t put any unnecessary pressure on these sections (I.e applying my whole weight)...

Hello Jester Bushcraft . . . great videos, thank you. Have you ever done a video on how to convert the front seats (driver and passenger) of a Citroen Berlingo pre 2008 so that the backs fold far enough forward to allow the Amdro Boot Jump to lie flat when in bed mode? The problem with these early models is that the angle of of the backs, which are adjusted using a winder mechanism on the side of the seat, takes the back to an upright position, but no further forward (i.e. to a more acute angle). Any suggestions or photos greatly appreciated!

@@stropskoj Amdro themselves sent me a paper on how to do it. It involves a hacksaw and a metal file, and it all worked very well. You could try emailing them.
