Thank you for the easy explanation! I've found cooking to be intimidating especially when it came to herbs, spices, and what each ingredient contributes to the taste of the product. This helps a lot and I've subscribed because of it! You also completely called me out for not taking notes, and having the pdf made me have a breathe of relief !

i appreciate natural spices in all my cooking from any dishes around the world! i am glad that my children grew up with flavorful dishes and meals-in that sense, I am successful on providing my children delicious homecooked meals😊

Yes, but you have to do it on low to medium heat ensuring that butter doesn't burn or smoke.

What are the top 3 Indian best spice mixes according native people? I like Graham Masala, and wanna add another one or two to my collection, I'm thinking Gun Powder (Panch Phoron) and Sambar, but wonder which base sauce (Tadka) to cook them with, same onion-tomato-garlic-ginger??

The country is so diverse in so many ways that the best spice mixes for the people of India is a hard thing to sell. Sambar whcih is a South Indian dish is made differently in each of the south Indian state and that is broadly speaking. If you were to ask me , what's my favorite then I love Panch phoran Sambar masala and the pumpkin seed podi. I have made a video on pumpkin seeds podi recently , it is similar to gun powder. I have explained the spices and their culinary in my spice course.

@@HappyBellyfish Thank you for your reply. I'm just hunting for spice mixes with distinctive flavors to make cooking more fun, and it looks like those 3 have very different ingredients, not similar like many others. My favorites are Chinese 5-spice for Pork and Garam Masala for Chicken, can never go wrong with them. I'll look into the mix and video you recommended, thank you.
