If you like the look of buttons but hate making buttonholes, covering KAM snaps with fabric is a great alternative.
Your project will be more stylish with the look of fabric buttons rather than a piece of plastic.

I always moisten the fabric when making covered buttons, so that it will tighten as it dries. I also use two rows of tiny gathering stitches to ensure uniformity and a smoother edge around the button.

Angela, you make so much possible! I'm trying to narrow a 2 and1/2" wide cotton cuff by folding it in half to the inside and hand sewing to attach. The difficulty was how to put in a new buttonhole through so many layers - it's a shiny type of cotton and I didn't want to ruin it. Then I thought 'snaps'! But snaps would cheapen the overall look of the crochet/lacy blouse. Then you come up with this practical, simple technique! It is so helpful, as always. Thank you 🌷 🌷 🌷 💐

I have hundreds of different colored KAM Snaps, which kind of makes my projects look cheap. This fabric idea elevates them to another level. Do you think a drop of Fabri-Tac would hold the fabric as well as double sided tape? Thank you for sharing. 💜😎🇺🇸
@NotchesSewing

You’re very welcome Joanne. I’ve tried with fabric glue. The tape is so much more convenient as you don’t have to wait for it to dry and nothing to bleed through the fabric.
