Tonight I made my first 'perfect' JST XH crimps thanks to your video. I watched at least 3 other videos on how to do that crimp but never got as good a result from those as I have from yours. Thank you so much for showing me just how easy the perfect crimp actually is.

Video tip: to help with focusing, hold the palm of your hand behind the part you are showing. It will block out more of the background and give the camera a larger surface to focus on. I did not see the ferrule crimper in the preview, so I was curious how you were going to do it. Glad to see you used the correct tool! Thanks for the information on the JST connectors.

Nice instructional video. The Iwiss crimpers are great for JST connectors.

I can also highly recommend the iWiss tool you've used - It works very well. I'm using it since a year or so and it's the one i get the best crimping results with. Even the very small JST GH / PH can be crimped with it. Sometimes i even crimp Dupont ones with it. I think they got inspired by the japanese Engineer PA-09 tool that many recommend for JST connectors. The iWiss one is half the price and still very well build.

Thanks for making this video, it was very helpful! I just recently bought the same crimper and JST & Dupont connector set from Amazon. After watching I was able to figure out the Dupont connector and went ahead and ordered the Iwiss tool you recommended for JST. So the JST crimper of this Qiabok technically will work but it really requires precise alignment which the tool doesn't assist with. The trick I found, which was not obvious, is to line up the latching tab part of the metal connector (i.e. the part that latches when it inserts into the plastic fitting) with the edge of the crimp tool. In other words the latching tab needs to be butted up to the edge of the crimper. The main issue I was getting before trying that way is the one you pointed out which is the square front and that tab would get deformed or mashed down. So that means that the metal band that attaches it to the roll of connectors needs to be slightly inside the valley where the crimp happens. If the connector is lined up using that edge of the roll tab on the back side of the connector where the wire goes in, it will guarantee a bad crimp as the latch tab will for sure get smashed down. The exposed part of wire only needs to be a couple of mm. I had many mostly bad crimps before finally getting a good cable out of it. Using the Iwiss looked much more straightforward

I use dupont connectors quite a bit, and I've learned that every crimper is different. My SN-28B crimper looks just like his, but if I aligned the crimp as he instructs, mine crushes the wire barrel, and the spring contacts. Apparently, with these cheaper crimping tools, the jaws aren't cast, or machined to the correct design and tolerances. Every brand tool is different. So the user just has to develop their own technique that produces the best crimps.

I can't tell what crimper model make you used at the beginning with the small connector. I think the writing on the tool is ISW 28520W. But that is not listed on Amazon

If your unable to crimp. You could solder them or just wrap together real tight and use heat shrink tube with lighter to melt.

Not sure off the top of my head. I would have to test it and look at crimp to see if it bits the wire and holds tight when tugging on it.
