Good grief! I can't tell you how many videos I've watched on the magic circle, which I still struggle with. Then I see yours for a bowl cozy and I have to say you have the easiest magic circle I've seen! THANK YOU! Oh, and the bowl cozy is cute. I'm going to try to make my folks one. So, thank you for the tutorial and a big thanks for the magic circle! 👏🏻🤗

I like this pattern and the video was easy to follow. Only suggestion would be to add the number of stitches you should have after each round. I got all the way to the top to do the flaps and my stitch count was off so had to start over. No worries, its a learning experience!

FYI. 2 things that might help. (1) I loosely put the tail in a stitch so I knew where round starts if lost the marker. (2) to count the stitches u should have it’s the stitches x 6. Ex: row 10 is 8 sc then 2 sc. which is 10x6 so it should have 60. (Row 3 has 18). It helped me 🌺

I’m gobsmacked as to how easy you made a magic circle! Everyone else makes it look so technical, you showed us a really simple way to do it, thank you, for years I’ve suffered trying to follow others instructions :). Love the bowl too.

Very nice but mine never layed flat. Started curling up right off the bat and I was doing it loose. 🤦🏻‍♀️ first time ever hearing of a magic circle and it was very difficult for me to start. My first time ever doing anything like this. Practice makes perfect. Lol!

Great tutorial but my Cozy turned out huge even after following your directions completely. I used Mainstays 100% cotton yarn. Could that be the reason? It just falls together and collapses. Might work okay with a really huge bowl.

I love this cozy. I would like to make the base bigger for a larger bottomed bowl and I can't get the count right. I'm fairly new at learning to crochet. Would you be able to help me? I'm thinking just two extra rows to the base should do it.
@AngelaCampos6179
@AngelaCampos6179 3 жыл бұрын
I used a different yarn (100% cotton, Crafter's Secret from Hobby Lobby) which is also a 4 weight, and I used an H hook. My base is a bit smaller by 1/4" but, I'm going to go up a hook size to increase the size. Maybe this would work for you?

Thanks nicki for this amazing tutorial. I have a question, what happened to the rose gold plating on your hook? Did it wear off after some time or using scratchy yarn made it wear off? I'm concerned as i ordered the forest odyssey that has 14k gold plating. Thanks for your tutorials, keep up the awesome work :)

It rubbed off a bit. But I have very oily hands. I know you can ALWAYS (no matter how many times) get a new one if you show Furls that it rubbed off. So I would worry about it! :-)

@@NickisHomemadeCrafts thanks for replying, yes they do have great customer service and i did exchange a few hooks before and they were nice about it i was just concerned if i had to replace the hook quickly as the normal Odysseys won't rub off or anything of that sort. Well hopefully you enjoy your hooks, thanks for your help i really appreciate it :)

You can only use 100% cotton as there could be adverse reactions to microwaving with any material other than 100% cotton (such as melting acrylic fibers).
