Not perfect, too much waste. Try cutting them like they do in Thailand or Laos. Takes longer but you get more out of it.

Thanks for sharing! I'm in Mexico for the winter & been purchasing pineapple a few times a week at our local market & needed the correct & easy way to carve. I found that after scoring the pineapple quarters it was easier to lay it on its side & cut closer to the rind w/ less waste. Cheers!

Great video! Simple, easy and to the point. Also, I don't feel like I'm wasting a lot of the pineapple this way. I used to dread cutting pineapple bc I feel like I waste so much, bur this way seems to waste very little as long as you follow the directions and cut as close to the core as possible and as close to the skin as possible. It may be stupid, but one should always reflect on how amazing it is that some random person took the time 11 years ago to teach a thing, and potentially helped 17M people. I was looking around for recipes to prepare some low sodium meals for my brother, and one called for fresh pineapple. It's nice to be able to just summon knowledge from the ether. The core is the most nutritious part except for the the stem right under the leaves. The stem has the most anti cancer properties. We cut differently but just as efficiently in the Philippines where we have endless supply of pineapple:)

the core can be juiced. It contains most of the bromelain, the best enzyme in pinaple. Or, you can squeze it in your mouth at least, and spit the fiber out.

I got a little tricked by that "tiktok hack", you know the one where you hit the pineapple, roll it around and you'll be able to pick small pieces. It didn't work. Then i saw this video, thought to myself "well i bought it, gotta cut it somehow", and it really worked! You're a life saver thanks so much!
