Cement helps build the modern world, but did you know that the cement industry is responsible for around 7% of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions*? Learn how science, shipping and storage are cutting carbon from cement.
As the global population increases, finding lower-carbon building materials is vital as the world shifts to net zero. Discover how Northern Lights, a partnership between Shell, Equinor and TotalEnergies, combines a specially designed ship with carbon capture and storage technology to help one cement producer lower its emissions.
* This includes energy-related and industrial process CO2 emissions (i.e. does not include land use CO2 emissions), source International Energy Agency.

But I'm unsatisfied of the concept of storing beneath sea level in solid form. Cristel Lambton also clarifies that the technology also implies 2 industries like steel,waste incineration,chemicals which fro my point of view would have "Impact", on seal bed level.

7% isn't much all things considered. That is until you look at the fact that's just the statistic for the cement industry. Insane to imagine how much CO2 that actually is.
