How To cut sinamay on true bias. Lesson 6

Bias cuts are very useful in making hats. It's very important that you understand how to cut it. Bias cuts are used on curved edges.
Bias cuts are also used for designing
-loops, belts, bands, roses, lilies etc.
Everything you need to design in sinamay has to be cut on the bias.

For blocking, you don't need to cut on the bias at all. Cut on the grain of the sinamay

@@Skater51 in addition: if you are blocking a brim that is wider than 18" in diameter, you should use at least three layers of sinamay material to mould it. That will give a firmer finish than if you use just two sheets for moldind. I hope you understand this.
