They’re both gorgeous! I have a few of my own and am considering buying a civil war era doll right now… The older the better!

Great information! I inherited 2 family dolls. One is a China head doll and I love her. The other is a boy composite doll with no markings. I would love to get him identified.

If you can make a video showing the doll, including any makers marks and sending me a link, I would possibly be able to help you identify who made the doll and how old it is. The marks are usually on the back of the head, neck or back of the shoulders.

Very cool video and pretty dolls. I love dolls and doll heads, the spookier the better. can you help me with identifying my boy doll? I’ve been searching for hours now.

@@emtw46 How can I go about helping you? I would need to see photos or even see a video of it. Most "boy dolls" are not antique. You most likely have a newer contemporary doll made to look old, a mass produced QVC type of doll or an artist doll. Is there anyway I can see it? What are the markings on the back of the head or shoulder area? Any artist signatures, numbers (mold numbers), brand names, etc...?

@@FuturesPast1 he is absolutely the real deal. He is made stuffed with straw and is wearing a mohair suit, he also has kid leather shoes with all the bottoms. I’ll see if I can private message you.

@@emtw46 Sounds old to me. Can you make a quick video showing him? Does the back of his head or his shoulders have any markings? Does he have painted on eyes or glass eyes? If glass do they sleep? I forgot that they did make a lot of boy dolls with composition heads during the 1910-1930's era. Before that time boy dolls were not that frequently made. He is probably German, American or French. Would love to see him. Are you sure his head is composite and not celluloid? That would help me date the age better.

I was doing some research on a doll I bought. I have one of these dolls. The German ones with the China heads. So now I know they weren't marked and they were from the 1890s to 1905. How much would one of these be worth nowadays? I have a full body one. With China hands, and china feet.

Thanks for this helpful video 👍😄 I got a China head highbrow for only 15 euro’s however the shipping price was really expensive
@FuturesPast12 жыл бұрын
15 Euros is a great price! Shipping is really expensive here in the USA too. Most of the times the items I win on eBay cost me double because the shipping prices keep getting more and more expensive because of the high gas prices. I hate that so much.
@follet173yearsago92 жыл бұрын
@@FuturesPast1 Yeah me too probably the only time I buy something from eBay ,the shipping price was 4 times the price of the doll To avoid that it’s better to buy at Flea market or thrift shops

The doll heads were glued on, later repairs may have sewn through the holes and reproduction doll bodies use cloth tape to go though holes and then sewn to body.

I have a doll head I am trying to find out how old it is. I know its like the head you have on the right but mines kind of broken on the back so part of the words are missing but I can make out the word "many" and I am assuming it says Germany but is that a newer one or an antique one?

@FuturesPast1 Жыл бұрын
There are some china doll books out there that help you id some of these dolls. I think you can get them used on Amazon or ebay. They helped me a lot. Most of them you will find were most likely made by Hertwig. Those ones were made by the millions.
