These are some of my Antique German china head dolls spanning from the 1860's-1900. Most of them need cloth bodies as their original ones disintegrated.

I've been watching a channel from Annapolis, Md. called Theriaults Dolls. They've been in the collecting biz for 40+ years. And just today I watched 2 or 3 videos on German sculpted dolls from that era. Maybe you'd enjoy that channel as I've been, Deanna. It's pretty amazing to see the info & craftsmanship. It's my understanding that the hairstyles were unigue & not really mass produced - so maybe you have some rare ones!

Thanks for recommending Theriault's. Theriault's gets top dollar for the dolls they sell. They are a highfalutin auction house. I could only dream of buying one of the dolls they auction off. The funny part is the same dolls that I have in my collection, they sell for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. If I am lucky, I could only sell some of mine on Etsy for way less. I think this auction house really draws in the wealthy doll collectors. They have really good advertising and thousands of die hard fans bidding on their auctions. The owner of this auction house also has a website that sells beautiful antique replica doll clothes. Whenever one of my antique dolls needs a nice outfit, I buy one from there. Actually, all the dolls I showed in the video are some of the most commonest china had dolls. The really rare ones are the ones with the fancier hairstyles. I have only one of those fancy haired ones in my collection. Hopefully one day I will get to add more to my collection.

@@FuturesPast1 Yes ma'am. They're highfaluting as can be! But the info is free. That's all I can afford these days!😂

I hope so! They all look the same to me. I usually collect antique bisque head ones and the china head ones are harder to figure out.

This book is a great book. I have a short attention span so I need to slow down and actually read it. Hopefully I will learn a thing for two.
