I've 24V 150W SMPS. Can I use this LED driver to power up 8 LEDs in series at 1A?

I was told that the AL8805 is obsolete. Can I use an AL8835 instead? ty

Hello, thank you for watching! Are you referring to AL8853? If yes, you can use AL8853 for driving the LED, but you need an extra circuitry (including the mosfet) according to the datasheet of AL8853. Hope this helped!

Thank you for this, it was very helpful for my project. Do you know of some alternatives to AL8805? The 40V input is not enough for my use case, I need at least 48V input.

I took a quick view of the datasheet for LT8391, and it is a very nice device which supports Boost, Buck-Boost, Buck modes of operation! The efficiency of this device can almost reach 98% in certain conditions, according to the efficiency curves on page 1 and 8 of the datasheet. For 95% or more efficiency, you should use this device in following conditions. - Input voltage : 10~40V - Output current : 2A or more Though very interesting, I am very sorry to say that I will not be able to make a video for this device. I want to focus more on the concepts of the operation in a certain area, rather than on specific products which have similar functionalities. If you are intending to design a PCB using this device, the resources on the following link might be very useful. * DC2345A Evaluation Board (for LT8391) www.analog.com/en/products/lt8391.html#:~:text=The%20LT8391%20is%20a%20synchronous,equal%20to%20the%20output%20voltage.
