It's one of the best CAS plane at Rank II, but its main issue with this plane is that its slow and quickly loses momentum, you need to be careful how you fly this because one wrong move and a German 20mm can heavily damage you or kill you, I also advise you using the 250kg bombs

I am totally agree, when you have an enemy coming directly in front of you you have to take him down before he gets behind you

It can out turn ANY fighter you come across but you need some alt, once you loose speed you are a brick.

I've play this plane so much that i use 100kg bomb, i never miss a target with it so combine with the rocket i have 8 free kil per match if I'm nobody take me down...wich happen not very often

i take 4x 200kg, and 4x rockets the larger (yet slighty heavier ones) bc i can take out tanks and spaa from a distance instead of having to be over them to remove them(and yes the cannons work, but rockets are easy)

It has good frontal armor for a plane and very punchy guns, if you go in a head on with one you probably gonna die

IL-2 (1942) is an amazing IL-2. Without the back gunner, it is much lighter, allowing it to retaliate against fighters, while its 23mms have an incredible 46mm of pen. In air rb, you can mess around with enemy fighters dumb enough to full commit to you. Fun and tanky plane.

the 1940 and 1942 IL-2's are amazing, they dont have the best bomb loadout but they are super tanky and maneuverable, plus both the 20mm and 23mm will tear anything that flies appart, anything

Irl it had the nickname "Betonvogel" (concrete bird) since it could survive direct hits from a 20mm and was nearly impossible to shoot down with a mg

Don't get me wrong your video is cool and I just wanna give you a tip. If you drop one or two bombs at a time you can get double or quadruple the kills but practice first. Wish you well

really good plane. I recommend taking out the 4 rockets with the highest TNT + 4 100kg bombs. The rockets are amazing, but take time learning how to aim, and the bombs are powerful enough to get 4 kills (1 bomb each) (just gotta learn to accurately place 100kg bombs :)). Great video otherwise. Keep it up :).

@@tankremover Its hard to learn the RBS 132's, very satisfying though! I've been away from Russian Rockets for a while the drops is similar to Rp-3's but slightly different.

I got an 8 or 9 kill air RB game with this plane. I would consistently have 4+ kill games in air RB with the earliest 2 IL-2s.

Ground battles. In ground realistic, you can bring your own planes into the battle

@@DSplatter You don't need to take off in realistic mode (in ground battle). You only have to in simulator, but the controls are more difficult than in realistic.

I'll never understand, how this... Monstrosity, is BR 3.0 and Stuka D-5 is 3.3. D-5 is slower, weaker, heavier and without armor. But this thing, is flying tank. 😂😂
