I bought a used lift and wanted to make sure I buy the proper length anchor for my application. This video helped me feel more confident in that process so thank you for doing it. I will be talking with your company further.

In full disclosure, I work with Bob. But I've got to say, this is pretty impressive information on using a wedge anchor. I'm not sure if the entire construction world knows this stuff or not. But it's pretty interesting stuff. I would have thought the longer anchor the better. But clearly that's not the case.

Thank you for helping me to find the right anchor for my project. I'm attaching some 2x4 's vertically to my basement wall to support a shelving system. Based on your numbers I will need sleeve or wedge anchors of size 0.5" x 4.5" accommodate a metal bracket and the nut.

1:30 - I notice that there is an unthreaded tip on the anchor. Does this rule of thumb for the space for the nut and washer account for the thickness of the nut and washer PLUS THE UNTHREADED TIP?

I bought a 12k pound 2 post lift. My cement floor is average 4 to 5" deep and where the lift will be it is about 10" deep and 4ft square and its 4500psi but I do not have any rebar or wire mesh in the cement. I have some 4inch anchors but friends are telling me I should use a 7" anchor. Would they be right?

I will be anchoring pressure treated 2"x4" onto concrete in order to frame a non-load bearing exterior wall (closing in a garage). I live in SW Florida (not sure of the codes in Lee County). If using a 1/2" wedge anchor bolt with minimum embedment of 2 1/4", and adding an 1 1/2" inch for the thickness of the 2x4, and another inch for the bolt, nut and bearish plate, all that comes to 4.75", then would you recommend I purchase 5 to 5 1/2" anchor bolts?

Hi Bob, I'm going to fasten down a half inch plate, one foot square, RSJ welded onto the plate, my question am l better using wedge anchors or the screw in anchors?

Great job Bob, I really enjoy your videos and the next time I need an concrete fastener I will purchase the concrete fastener from your company.

If the drill bit made it through the non-straight hole, I don't see why the anchor couldn't. Maybe the bit could flex more but I'd guess a deep hole would be using a larger diameter bit with little flex. Also rebar, is often pulled to the middle of the concrete slab.

I noticed you exclusively mentions wedged anchors for concrete. Does this work for brick?
