In this video we look at the windscreen washer jet set up on the Smart Car ForTwo 1st generation W450 and show how to diagnose and repair any issues with the washer jet / pump etc.

my front pumps just fine but my rear doesnt work anymore. it just randomly stopped. i was told theres a fitting behind one of the tail lights that comes apart, but i have yet to look due to the weather. it wont stop raining.

I’ve got the same problem. Front is pumping fine but rear you can hear the pump running but no water coming out. Did you sort this out?

mjrjunior it turns out when the washer fluid level reaches a certain low point, the rear stops working, it’s kind of like a warning to the driver. 😅

Well, I've just had a new pump fitted, and it's still not working properly. I've been told it's the washer jet. Tried unblocking with an air pressure gadget and also a paperclip, it's does the first squirt perfectly then stops..please help, any ideas ?

I have the 450 and there’s no pump noise so basically I need to replace the pump?

Check there is voltage at the pump first - could be a fuse

@@L663 I was thinking the same but the fuse covers both the washer and the wipers and the wipers work. So it must be the pump?

My washer pump is working only with full washing liquid reservoir, but as soon as I waste for example half of liter of liquid my pump stops spraying water even if I can heare it it's working electrically. Any suggestion?

This is odd - it could be a weak pump as it has to work harder the lower the fluid gets.

I have 2012 rangerover Westminster the dpf filter light is on drove it for an hour didn't clear any suggestions thanks

neal finnie Neal, you need a 1/4 of a tank of fuel minimum plus an uninterrupted run of around 20+ minutes if you have the yellow light on. You don’t need to blast it full speed anywhere a constant 50 MPH plus will do. Be careful though as if you get the red warning you cannot clear it, you’ll need to find a good independent Land Rover garage to force a regen of the DPF

neal finnie Good to hear you have a warranty Probably find there is a leak on the air induction side Maybe the 4 small hoses on the plenum Hope you get it sorted 👍🏻
