God I love your content so much Seth, I think it's extremely important to share this information with people. For a lot of people this could be the first step in a journey to reconnect with nature and the world they live in, something that is even more important in todays times.

I really appreciate what you said about eating animals, very uncomfortable for most of our generation to face the reality, we have all avoided the difficult feelings for too long

I feel that whenever someone new finds your channel it evokes in them the same glee as finding their first piece of foraged food. It's such a hidden gem.

So interesting reflecting on me internally getting uncomfortable when he would speak about 'flesh', but i didnt think twice about the word 'meat'. Appreciate the video as always. Nice to be able to acknowledge how disconnected i am regarding my food sources and my relationship with them.

I don’t consider myself fearful of much however I have a weird fear of crabs, I say weird because I know that they are quite dosile and chilled. Very interesting to hear you had to work up the courage to pick one up! Great video!

It is nice to see how to respect the creature you're about to eat. I was a bit concerned that when you stabbed the crab it continued to move slightly, however, I looked up about it and for those who were worried as well - it is most likely just muscle contractions.

I've been learning to forage in a new ecosystem (to me), and while I'm gaining confidence with foraging wild plants, this channel has given me the interest and "in" to start looking into what animals and animal products I might be able to obtain in my new home. would love to hear more about terrestrial foraging, if you have any tips! thanks for the important information, and for the respectful way you go about your craft

An Elder from anyone Indigenous community could speak on this much much much better than I could, but as an Indigenous person I can say that each community a nation has a different word or different way of honoring what the way that you did. It's kind of the best English way I can put it is my deepest thanks and the highest honor to you is kind of how we say it to to that life that we are taking so that we may live. It is very beautiful to see that you over there can understand those deep truths or principles that kept us in Harmony in all of our interconnectedness with the world since time immemorial. I am Nehiyawak from nohkom and Lakota from moosom in so called Western Canada and US. I am glad that other white folks may learn to live in a Good Way like this, how you are

Such great content. Some of my earliest memories are going with my dad to catch lobsters (West Australia) - such beautiful creatures and I totally understand the feeling of respecting them while killing and eating them at the same time. There's a duality to all things and it's so clear in nature.

Please, remain in these simple style videos they're absolutely wonderful there's such a friendly and familiar kind of feeling or vibe that you have that is so far removed from the extremely edited and sharp looking videos other creators make. Also, don't feel any need to make larger form or topic stuff I'm nearly positive if you post something those that are interested will remain so. Have a nice week and I hope you keep well. ☺👍

Im based in truro and bought spearfishing kit last summer but never built up the confidence to really use it, its quite daunting to go and try to learn on your own! This video has inspired me to try and give getting a spider crab a go though so hopefully soon ill be able to get one to cook up :) Thanks for the great video

Hello from Canada' Very good content, I'm trying to get into freediving and sustainable foraging myself. I quite enjoy crab. Here we use a gauge to measure (most ours are measured side to side not front to back like y'all) we also can't take females. Fer sustainability I try to take the ones a bit bigger than size as the really big ones are the breeders but I doubt it matters much as no one harvests these days and crabs seem to breed rather quickly. In short have a good day buds!

Fantastic video as always. I would love to see you try jin-netting for prawns. You take a net with a handle at the top which has a rope tied to it with something that floats on the other end. Smash some mussels or a crab, place them at the centre of the net and sink it. You wait whilst the prawns come to feed and then pull the net up by hooking a crook around the float.

Another fantastic video. Been a while since I've seen you but I'm very appreciative. Yup, I'd find it hard killing them too, I'm also scared of deep water but you've taught me loads here - Thank you. Yeah 10/10 video

Amazing video as always. Makes you really want to get into foraging yourself. My question would be how do you find these foraging spots? Was the knowledge passed down to you or did you manage to find them yourself? If so, how?
