How to do Basic Maintenance on a Serger | Cleaning & Maintaining an Overlocker | Singer S0230 Serger

~Sew Happy to be back~Today I walk through how I do basic cleaning on my serger to include removing lint from the outside and inside of the serger, and how I oil it. There is so much more to serger maintenance than this, but I find this a great starting point and important steps to do especially after a project with messy fabric! I have this exact machine. My thread cmkeeps catching under the machine somewand breaking. Looper 2. Do you know why?😊

Hmm it sounds like some sort of threading issue with the loopers. My first recommendation would be to ensure the lower looper thread is sitting above the upper looper thread when you are sewing as I know that can cause some issues. My second recommendation would be to try to fully rethread the machine. It shouldn't matter if you are using a three or four thread stitch, so however you are threading it I would try to take everything out and start over and then do some test stitches. Hopefully that helps some!
