When I change the fuel filter I don’t add diesel, if you turn the ignition on the fuel pump primes the system for about 3 seconds, by turning the ignition on and off a few times the filter self primes, it saves having to mess about with diesel.

Good man ur self i did mine last saturday,, it was good to have it done before the weather breaks , i used Castrol 5w --30 , its amazinng how VW went back and is using paper fiters ,Toyota is doing the same on some of thier engines also , i prefer the cannister type filter by the way im 61 yrs and still flying it no pit no lift just hit the ground like the pope and get on with it cheers for now

Thanks for the video, very comprehensive. I guess you flush engine with a low cost oil (5W30) and then use a better quality oil like MOBIL1 ESP, right?

I have a Passat Alltrack B8 and would really like to pay the VW dealership, here in Australia, to actually get rid of the dirty oil like you do. Maybe I'd be able to ward off the dreaded upper carbon sludge blocking the air intake valves starting at 60,00km.

I just want to know that is it necessary to prime the fuel pump with vcds because you haven't shown in the video, i have the same 2015 car and i want to change my fuel filter as well but I'm a bit sceptical that i might damage the fuel pump.there are ao many threads online that say that one has to prime the fuel filter.

Hey. I have a 2013 VW Passat TDI. Is this full service the same as what you did? Also how often are you suppose to change Air Filter and Fuel Filter should it be done with every oil change?
