I use self adhesive bandages to create my own ergonomic hook. I do have arthritis and carpal tunnel. Sometimes the regular clover hook is just not comfortable. These are easily made and cheap as well. Thank you for watching! Happy Mail/Letters welcome and will be featured on the channel in video!

I’ve seen many hacks with hook handles, but this is the first time seeing this, what a very smart idea. I will have to give it a try. In the UK hospitals, they put these coloured bandages over the top of plaster casts for broken bones. My daughter had a pink one over hers when she broke her elbow, she loved showing it off to her friends at school lol.

This is a super idea! I have arthritis in my thumbs and I really don't want to spend a small fortune for all new ergonomic hooks. Can't wait to try! Btw, the pretty color wraps are veterinary bandages. 😁

Wonderful, I am glad this is an option for you! I recently picked up a very pretty one in pastel rainbow colors at our Running’s store!

I use polymer clay and baked them. I broke my wrist and need a bigger handle now. The clay handles are pretty.

I wrap bubble wrap first and tape it in place. Then I wrap this tape around the bubble wrap. I tend to grip to tight. If the bubbles pop, it reminds me to loosen up my grip.

It's after midnight and I just fell across this video. I did the same thing to my Susan Bates "ergonomic" hooks 3 months ago. I purchased a box of multicolored tapes on Amazon. I matched the tape as best I could to the hook colours. Works great.

What fun to find this video. A few days ago I wrapped a thread hook with bandaging I'd saved after lab work. That was just enough. The handle is cushy and comfortable and that thin hood is easy to hold. This works over bare hooks as well as pre-padded ones. I think the soft texture is more comfortable than polymer clay. I've also used duct tape, but this bandaging is better.

Thank you, great hack I use washi tape to make my crochet handles, but it demands quite a large length of tape, and it gets dirty fast because of the glue on the side of the tape.... I will experiment with your trick, it sounds much better than mine. I love the Odyssey Furl crochet, but you have to sell one of your kidneys in order to get one of those ! 🌹

Thanks! I used some inch wide tape like that and it worked well. I didn’t like the texture so I covered that with a layer of KT tape. It still has some softness and grip.

It does help and if you need more of a grip you can use silicone tape, I have a video on that as well. Thank you for watching!!!

I believe they are different colors for wrapping horses legs. It is for when doing rodeos, shows, and parades for aesthetics.

Just curious if you like furls hooks? I want to love furls hooks but I don’t really like the hook head. It grabs or isn’t smooth like my clover amour hooks. I can’t explain it

I think Furls hooks are okay. They are not my go to hooks because they have zero grip to them. I understand about the hook head also. I feel like I am crocheting too slow when I use them as well. Thanks for watching and commenting Jennifer, I appreciate it!!
