Just a bit of constructive criticism.. the information is good, but there’s a lot of filler talk in This video. Saying a lot of words but not really saying much. Sometimes less is more.

What would you suggest as cuisines to start with and equipment needed etc? As you know we should target similar ingredients/equipment to cut our costs as much as possible

Hi Wilson, may I ask if my gf and I have no experience in cooking, is there a way to start an f&b biz? Would it be unwise to rely on a chef employee or partner?

You can start with few dishes in your menu, once you know what your customers like/dislike/want you will be able to adjust your menu and if need hire a chef. You can easily find a chef on social media who can advise you about your menu

Hey Royvin, what Juliano said down there is right - you can find a chef to create the recipes for you. It is exactly what a lot of people actually do. You can figure out the recipe yourself or hire someone else to create it for you and you just follow the recipe. Check out my interview with Big Stick Willy on my channel as he did the exact samething and will give you some more inspiration! And if you're worried of the chef or partner running away with the recipe and making the same business..well it happens occassionally but understand that you're building a BRAND and relationship with customers. Those can't be replicated.

I’m struggling with guessing how many orders per day to assume. I’ve never worked at a restaurant before. How many orders is it safe to assume a virtual restaurant can get just starting out?

Regardless what industry you're in, when you're a brand new business with no historical data to look back on...it is super hard to guess how many orders you'll do right from the get go. What I can suggest is for you to ask around other cloud kitchens in your area and see the order flow they get (know that each state + time of day + day of the week is different). The more data you can refer to, the more of an educated guess you can make. And overtime when you do get more historical data, you'll eventually be able to make better inventory decisions.

How many order per day depends on your reviews, rating, key words highlighted on deliveroo, UBer etc and visibility on aggregator apps, cooking and prep times etc. Aggregators offer promoted placements so it’s always a good idea to take advantage of that however in the long run it’s always tour rating and what % of your one time customers order again and again plus how many new customers you can attract.

It’s trial and error. You have to see what sells and what doesn’t and go from there. Also, it’s always better to sell out than to have leftovers
