Thank you so much for this video. As a morbidly obese person at 140kg, shame and humiliation are my constant companions. Trying "super easy beginner workouts" and realizing, I can't even do those, always felt like just another punch to the stomach. Going to the gym wasn't even an option for me (mentally). It is so so uplifting to see someone make such a realistic plan in such a non-judgemental way.

I'm not obese, but these are good tips. I hate those shows like The Biggest Loser. Where they make obese people do overly strenuous exercise to the point of collapse or injury. That just makes the person hate exercise. They also starve them. Anyway, have a great day Coach Brian 👍🏾

It's actually dangerous for them to do it, there is a maximum heart rate that you should exercise at for all people it's worked out using your age, and BMI I believe or your weight plus your resting heart (your heart rate while not doing exercise) I can imagine that extremely obese peoples heart rate doing that kind of exercise is probably way over the recommend for their age and weight. They should monitor there heart rate and use something like a rowing machine or something like a exercise bike if you can get one big enough 😅, that way you can keep your heart rate at your optimum amount.

I was about 310lbs a year ago. I am about 265 now and still slowly losing weight. Just very light excersize (I started with just doing more chores around the house before I started actual excersize) and slowly reducing your portion sizes can work wonders. I'm still obese at this weight as I am short, but i hope I can continue to improve.

I am 26 yrs old 5’11” and 330lbs. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Hypertension which led me to start exercising and cutting out my calories. It has been 15 days already since I started and I’m currently at 313lbs. I’m still struggling with the diet and consistent exercise (walking an jogging) but I think I’ll be able to pull this off. I’m already seeing benefits with my Blood Pressure. Previously, I’ve been getting 140/80 as a baseline but now my blood pressure is between 120-130/70-80.

This was such an amazingly helpful video. A lot of the content for beginners feels like it's targeted towards people who of a lower starting weight, and the demotivation settles in when I try these other processes and they are SO hard to do. I've tried so many systems where you go hard on HIIT and just like clockwork, my discipline breaks down after a month because I'm at my limit. Thank you so much for the consistent reminder to pace ourselves and to start slow, and to only move on when we are physically ready

can i jump in? I've been fit and I've been fat and I've done the same workouts during each phase. The trick with any workout is you do what's hard for you. Skinny Minnie next to you might be doing burpees, but if walking on the spot is all you can do because you can't get down, that's what you do. A good instructor should give you appropriate variations for each stage you reach. I'm lucky in that I've always been in supportive classes, with one exception and they werent' talking about me, but I reported what i saw and the two bitches were banned. I hope you find that too.

Hello Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?

I would like to add: do not think of exercise only in isolation. Need to walk more? Then do not look for the closest parking space to the door of the store or mall; add walking by parking further away. Do not use the escalator or elevator; take the stairs.

I think the best way is to just think of each step you take as one step. One step. One step. One step. Don't think I've got to get to the store. Think I'm going to take one step. One step. One step. One step. You'll get to the door. It doesn't matter if it's hard because one step is easy and if you treat each step as a separate on an forget the last then your just taking a 1000 easy steps.

Thank you for breaking the stereo typical thinking behind trainers who work with morbidly obese people. More times than not in my struggle to get healthy I have been disheartened by the shame I felt with a trainer who continuously felt like I can just do it you're just being lazy being completely disregard to joint pain abilities inabilities and restrictions because of the way our bodys condition. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot, I also learned what kept me motivated and what didn't, and this method of slow and consistent and increasing everyday is definitely on point to a successful progress and weight loss thank you so much all the best to you and to everyone on here. I'm grateful for today's 110 lb weight loss.

I love this concept!!! I can't really jump or have impact on my knees as I weigh 118kg (used to weigh 128 earlier this year) so I've been struggling to find exercises that I can physically do, and I need to exercise on top of watching my diet as I have a very slow metabolism due to thyroid issues. I've been walking the dogs with my husband, but because of my work schedule I can't do it every day. HOWEVER, I have just tried one of your exercises on KZfaq and thoroughly enjoyed it! I feel the burn and sweat without any joint or back pain :D I'm so excited to keep doing these exercises as often as I can! Hopefully I can lose weight quicker now thanks to being able to do these safe exercises in the comfort of my own home YAY! It makes losing weight less daunting and gives me more motivation to keep trying! Thanks for making this channel for us fattys :P

Just take one step. One step. One step. One step is easy right. Take one step, one step, one step. Like have you ever taken one step and ever thought that one small step was really difficult? Or is it the perceived perception of all the steps you have already taken as well as the ones you have to take to get to your goal that inhibits a person. After the 100th SEP the next one is just as easy as the one before. You just feel tired... Easy peasy.

Just go for it, the hardest part is just doing the first rep. Once you done that they Easier. Honestly just do one then another, like one step at a time. Don't think 100 pounds needs to be lost, I wouldn't even weigh yourself that often. Just focus on the exercise. Pick a goal each day, a small one that reachable, then meet that goal, then set a harder one the day after and continue you'll fin the further down the line you get the faster the improvement you have.

Hi Brian. Thank you so much for putting out this video. It gave me a solid goal to work towards. I was 137 kg at Dec 11, 2023 when I started my weight loss journey. I started by walking and am doing one meal a day with low carb. I can now comfortably walk for 30-40mins even though walking only 10mins felt like hell the first day. Seeing this improvement is giving me hope that I can do it. I don't have an end weight goal - I just want to look better. I will incorporate stair climbing soon and I will take it easy as you suggested. Thank you again for this amazing video guide.

Hey don't only eat one meal a day that's not good, you need protein before you sleep as it help with tye recovery processes and helps strengthen your muscles making it easier to do more exercise faster. Honestly you want low carbs in the morning, something high in protein, then a normal meal for lunch and then be eating a high protein meal in the evening but don't make your evening meal to large because you don't need the calories.. don't eat any carbs in the morning at all it will make you feel lethargic it will trigger your body to produce more insulin and your body will store it as fat.
@thebreifcaseman269
@thebreifcaseman269 4 ай бұрын
Also you could probably add in a smaller walk several times throughout your day as well, like plan a 10 min walk in the morning, have a shower eat, do your usual, then your 40 minutes of walking, then you lunch, then have a nice relaxing stroll in the evening. Not all the exercise you do has to be in one session each day you can do lots of exercise throughout the day, if you can't handle doing extra walks in the morning and evening do some weights in the morning with your upper body, 5kg would be about right I think. That way you can still do your walk but youll burn more calories each day improving progress. Also if you don't eat enough calories it will make strengthening your muscles harder. Like when you a low calorie diet say less the. 500 calories you body will store what you eat as fat and use your protein as energy. So you'll be loosing weight but you won't gain much strength. So I would eat less that 1,2 to 1,5k calories a day because of the extra exercise your doing you need the protein to heal properly.

So helpful! Just finding you and your channel. Took my dog on a 20 minute walk. Came back sweaty, red, and huffing and puffing. I wasn’t expecting it. Not wanting to become discouraged, the next day I rode the stationary bike for 20 minutes. My first goal is to be able to walk up the stairs without losing my breath.

Man to start of with do this 10 mins of walking every 2 days, or whatever you can now handle. Then do weight lifting on the next day, light weights for your upper body only, like 5kg, you can sit on your couch on recovery day and do more exercise without stoping your ability to recover. Remember to stretch the day after to help move that lactic acid about so you don't feel so stiff and after you have exercised. Also switch out some of your diet for protein, don't eat carbs in the morning, eat protein, your body will use the carbs break some of it down into glucose and store tye rest as fat, where as the protein will give you energy and be used to help repair your muscles. Normal lunch smaller dinner in the evening. So eat less carbs in the evening and more protein, protein for breakfast and the. A normal lunch. You don't need carbs as much while you sleep. Also you'll feel less lethargic if you eat protein in the morning.

How did it go??? I'm scheduled for gastric bypass in July. I'm excited and terrified at the same time. It was suggested that I start weight/strength training BEFORE surgery since its likely patients will lose muscle mass the first few weeks after surgery. Did you lose muscle mass soon after surgery?

Hi Brian, I just searched "How to get back in shape after years of inactivity and being overweight." I found your video. I just ordered myself a pedometer, and I'm just going too walk around my house today. I thank you for posting videos. This is day 1 for myself. So I'm hoping too lose some weight this year or get too the motivation I had when I went active duty. This might be a year old video but it helps. I'm 5'10 and 350lbs. I have back knees my back burns up and goes numb after just 5mins of walking non stop. Since I have Anixety it's harder to be outside or even going too the store. Depression hits enough that I don't even feel like being up. I'm going too make sure I keep going fourth with losing this weight. Thanks for posting videos and I look forward too losing weight.😊

I just recently cut sodas out my diet. Been 1 month since I had one and I'm slowly cutting sweets out my diet. Now I'm cutting my portion back as well. I'm trying to cut back alot of fatty foods as well. I'm extremely active during the weekdays. I use to be less active on weekends. But I started being more active on weekends now. I use to be stress alot and I constantly think about food. But I solved my stress problems and I find ways to help me to relieve my stress. Now I find myself thinking about less food. I no longer as tired. I feel great even if I been during it for a month. I burn close to 1000k calories a day maybe more. Because I'm constantly move every part of my body. My job is very labor intense.I trying to burn that much during the weekend.

I’ve found playing golf is really helping me as it keeps me motivated to walk, rather than just walking. I definitely think having something you enjoy keeps you motivated. I’m 295lbs, I can only walk 9 holes atm but I burn 1,700 calories a day playing my 9 holes in the evening. Feeling ready to conquer 18 holes soon but have had to order some gel insoles as my feet get sore. My fitness has massively improved tho

So I’m overweight but I go to the gym weight train 5 days a week but do 10 minutes of stairmaster cardio typically 5-7 times a week so 50-70 minutes a week. I also walk 6 staircases because I live on 4th floor. I usually hit 6,500-8,500 steps a day. Varies. I’ve always been heavier.. I have a clean diet, I usually eat grilled chicken, or hamburger patty. Occasionally flank steak or breaded chicken (occasionally!) I eat a lot of vegetables like cauliflower, cucumbers, red peppers, or any others. I usually eat fruit. I typically eat half bowl of rice and 24g protein of teriyaki chicken. I’ve just never seen progress and I’m not sure why? I don’t limit my food completely but I am careful with it.

I hope you're doing well, you don't have to start an abrupt diet/exercise regime all at once. Merely eating slightly less quantity will already start contributing to weight loss, the motivation to slowly make your diet slightly healthier and start exercising will slowly come with it (and you're more likely to stick with it because it will become your new "normal"). I've started having panic attacks/heavy chest for the first time in my life for the last 3 months, so I can understand it's difficult to start (to an extent, obviously we have different personal problems and struggles) but I'm finding out that exercising (even if it's just lifting weights, doing cardio, or both) his helping me stay much less depressed and calming down my panic attacks. I hope you find what works for you, even if you start with small steps that are easy to stick with ;)

Thank you for being precise, I am 5 ft 9 and I weigh 230 pounds. Lately I have noticed that I get out of breathe from walking for short periods of time, I need to get back into shape asap because I absolutely cannot leave my 12 year old twins without a mother, so to morrow I will be starting off slow and do 10 minutes of walking as well as incorporating a healthy diet.
