Well that's certainly one way of discouraging players from selecting the hard difficulty.

Well DW, the quote from your Vanguard review, “Having Sledgehammer Games working on Call of Duty is a massive mistake, I think they should be kick out of Call of Duty”. 30% of people from Sledgehammer got fired from Microsoft, and overall 1,900 people from Activision lost their jobs.

I played them on easy when on steam deck and medium on pc. Dimensions of the past i think i finished on easy on pc, because item scarcity is beyond ridiculous in that one. Im not fighting two shamblers with an axe, thank you sir

I've found the expansions definitely suffer from the "only play this if you're a hardened Quake veteran or you're gonna have a bad time" problem.

One of my favorite fps games right behind titanfall 2, i love quake holy hell Sad that it went a different direction after the first game and ended up extremely restricted to the e-sports crowd nowadays

Frankly Quake 2 is better than 1. Unfortunately the series never truly defined its identity until 3 just said "screw it, embrace deathmatch," though.

@@DWTerminator i dont think 2 is bad but i dont care much for its style, i recall from the old review that it was always your favorite tho xD But yeah, i hate that nowadays the franchise is basically e-sports I wanted something like OG quake to play and the closest i got to that was still widely different (Dusk)

Regardless of what you do it's pretty much a matter of luck to get through the portal without falling in the lava. I have no clue why they thought it was a good idea.

I don't play nightmare in the new remastered version since it causes any of your health above 50 to gradually tick back down to 50.

What do you think of the new machine games expansion for quake? It's visually spectacular, but okay gameplay wise. Felt a bit too easy so far.

Glad I wasn’t wearing headphones for this, but some of the sounds seem like they were used again in Half Life.

Half-Life was built on a fork of the Quake 1 engine so them sharing a few things isn't surprising.

@@DWTerminatorI imagine they just re-used that for Half Life 2 and it's things then, since not only do you have the same suit, but at least some of the same sound effects.
