I'm a newbie gun owner concerned that I might mess up the disassembly of my pistol. After watching this video and then following along step by step I am a lot more comfortable with it. Thank you.

Yeah when I first took apart my wife’s Ruger Security 9 (compact Tiffany blue/nickel slide) I didn’t pay much attention when taking out the recoil spring and was worried that I may have put it in backwards! After shooting the first 75 rounds we took it home and disassembled the pistol to find where the recoil spring sits inside the end of the barrel it had chipped away metal from our slide a decent little chunk too. So I called Ruger and they said you can’t put the recoil spring in backwards and the damage done was enough for me to send in the slide and get another sent to us.

One additional thing I learned is in noticing that you wore rubber/latex gloves. This was to keep the CLP off your hands and constantly returning to the parts while cleaning and in reassembly.
@ryank362611 ай бұрын
Ya its definitely good to use nitrile gloves when you use any type of chemicals. It also keeps your skin grease of some stuff like glass your cleaning

First time popping that extended mag baseplate off and now can't get it back right... I'm going to try the other, but boy do I feel stupid. I've broken down other mags but never one with an extender on it. When you said "I don't need to show you how to do that in a video," I was like, "Oh yes you do!" LOL
@michaeldunne13482 жыл бұрын
Never mind (smack my head); looking at the other mag it was easy to see where I went wrong. Mission accomplished.

What’s your opinion on that light? I’m looking for something more proportional to my long barrel length. I have the XDM 5.25
@SkullCrushInc3 жыл бұрын
It’s the best light you buy at least as of this date. Lights seem to improve more and more every few years.

Do you scrub the threads for the thread protector with a brush and CLP? I have my first threaded barrel pistol and am not sure how to properly maintain the threads and thread protector.

Maybe I haven't watched far enough into the video but I just bought a 10mm XDm and the meta trigger doesn't feel that great, any lubrication tips.
@SkullCrushInc Жыл бұрын
Not going to change the trigger feel. Maybe check and see if there is an aftermarket trigger available.
@BrianJohnsonUSC Жыл бұрын
@@SkullCrushInc thank you for the quick reply. I have always loved Springfields, didn't know what to expect from this trigger but noticed I'm pulling left and low. may have to go aftermarket, not the guns fault though. thank you again.

Are there any solutions to changing the black out front and rear sights? Do you all recommend any certain kind of sights? And any places that can change them out ?
@SkullCrushInc2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Your local gun shop will change them out.

You can get a red dot. Which I did. I got the Holosun 508T. It will need a mounting plate. C&H Precision has the right parts. Or... if you don't like red dots, there is a paint you can get to simply paint the top third of your front sight iron. Sort of like with a small nail polish brush. This way it's easier to pick up on the front sight in contrast to your back sight iron.

@@SkullCrushInc its gun lube but is that is that i need it clean my gun? Besides from what u mentioned in the video
@SkullCrushInc2 жыл бұрын
@@ernestogarcia9159 There are dedicated lubricants and CLP liquids. Lube is just lube and CLP is a cleaner, lubricant, and protectant all in one. You can use lube on the high friction areas after you’ve cleaned with CLP if you like. But a CLP is all you need.
