How to Film Yourself Playing Guitar (Tips/Tutorial)

When I first started out, watching guitar videos confused me because I had no Idea how they recorded the sound and video separately, and at that time there weren't as many tutorials as today on KZfaq.
A couple of you asked me how I film my videos, so i'm sharing my workflow and how I go about filming/ editing the videos for the fastest, and best results possible.
The first thing you should do is find an interface to plug your guitar into, I use a focusrite 2i2 that I got used for around $50.
I wasn't sure whether to dive into the small details or to skip over them, if there was anything you wanted to know more about, i'll be happy to answer your questions, or make a video about it.
I like the filming aspect because I come from a film school background, but don't forget that the music is the most important part, good visuals will not make a bad song better lol.
As I mentioned in the video you do not really need a camera to get started, your phone should do the job, but I would get a small tripod to mount it on.

I've recorded covers but always use the shotgun microphone that came with the camera putting it right up to the speaker. The reason I do this is because it will save so much time from editing and syncing all the audio clips with the videos (playing several instruments ) . I didnt know the editing program could do it for you. I use filmora wondershare to edit my videos, I gotta see if it can do that for me.

Hi Rudy.. First of all I like to thank you for your videos and tips. I may have missed it, but did you video tape several angles at the same time with multiple cameras, or just record each angle separately with one camera? In my case, I have to use free video editing software (Shotcut) which for free is pretty good. I'm always amazed how those different angles got synced up so good. I think that may be my week spot, getting everything synced up.

Mitch Haman I use one camera, and use the audio from the camera to sync up with the song (when recording the music is playing through speakers), so that's my reference to sync. Thanks for watching!

how to record a good audio for a cover , with an interface and bias for example without sounding like trash . (maybe how to EQ the original song so pple can hear ur guitar ? )
