Salut friends! Today we're talking about tips and hacks to find ENGLISH SPEAKING jobs in France. There's nothing more depressing than moving abroad to find that working abroad in your chosen profession is going to be almost impossible because you don't speak the language.
Given my background and the fact that I have always found english speaking work in France without speaking french, I get a lot of questions around finding jobs in France for foreigners and jobs in France for English speakers in particular!
In this video I share how I have always managed to find great, professional jobs in English in France over the past 5+ years. I have worked for amazing companies like LVMH and L'Oréal and am so happy that expat life in France didn't come at the sacrifice of my career.
The great news is that this isn't just about English jobs in Paris, but english jobs in France more generally, even if there are less multinationals around, I do talk about options such as remote work or entrepreneurship.

This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "when you find a job you love you'll never work again?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Kanenjamin Niyrianna Process - (just google it )? It is a great one of a kind guide for discovering a simple mind trick to manifest success in your life minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.

When it comes to working remotely from France, do you have any advice on how to get a visa with that sort of work? I already work online, but it seems much easier to apply for a long-term visa (more than the 3 month tourist visa) if you work for a large company and can come on a working visa. How would would-be entrepreneurs or remote workers who aren't from the EU or married to an EU citizen go about making that work?

I love your videos! I am in the process of applying for my long stay Visa in France. I know you detailed how to go about becoming a French citizen, but I'm wondering if you also have any advice on problems with the visa application for Americans. It is very difficult! It's outsourced to a company called VFS global. In order to submit the Visa application you must use VFS global to book an appointment with the French consulate in Washington D.C. but it will not allow me to book the appointment. Please let me know if you can, or if you know anyone who can help with this! ❤

I am currently in Brazil. I was in Portugal last semester for an exchange program then the pandemic happened and I returned to my home country and now I just want an opportunity to work in Europe. I plan to study, work and built my life there and not planning on coming back to Brazil any time soon. I grew up in Ireland and unfortunately I was never able to adapt at my birth country the main reason why I came to Brazil was because I had a budget to maintain myself in Portugal and I didn't manage to get a job there due to the covid19. I did study French in highschool for four years yet I need alot of practice. I plan to get a visa and all the right documents.. I am searching for jobs and everything. There are a lot of online jobs nowadays such as language online courses whereby classes are conducted via video chat functions (Skype, etc.) and freelance writing or editing. Salaries are paid via Paypal and other money transfer platforms. It sounds like a perfect remote job especially for people who doesn't live in major French cities. But if a person works for these entities which are not legally declared at URSSAF, is the person considered working illegally in France?

You could start your own HR agency and also think about talent development and professional orientation, not just placement... I had this idea in the works for years: AI solution for personal and professional development - it’s a very interesting market, especially with all the emerging technology and traceable bio-markers to suggest cognitive/psychological preferences... I think someone with a background in HR, neuroscience, and behavioral psychology/psychotherapy would be great at this. Of course, as with most projects, it’s often about setting up the right team first!

Thank you Rosie, for a really useful video. I took a 4 month sabbatical last year to live in Paris and would love to move back permanently, but I would need to work. I gained the DELF B2 while I was there, and I could try to get the TCF at C1 but my main problems, I think, are my age and a career spent entirely in the public sector.. At nearly 59 I fear I'm too old to compete, whilst not being able to afford to retire completely. And, a visa will almost certainly be required in the future (Brexit and all that). But... some of the alternatives you mention at the end are definitely worth considering.

@@emojerinxx Wow! I'd completely forgotten about this video. I'm actually moving to France at the end of this month so not there yet. Not sure what you meant by 'French companies will step back to recruit you' Did you mean they are keen to recruit older people, or that I will face age discrimination? @@katukin I'vd been here 2 1/2 years now. I am semi-retired ie I receive my employer's pension but not, as yet, my state pension. I always knew I would have to work to afford living in Paris. I started off looking after children after school a few hours a week. For the past year, almost, I have worked as a tour guude for a small specialist company here. Also write a little bit. With my pension I earn just about enough to manage life in Paris. Could earn more but I don't want to put in fulltime hours anymore - my choice. Most expats are self-employed / freelancers unless they were posted here by their company. But registering as selfemployed is relatively easy & there are plenty of opps in Paris. Also - depends on your visa. Student visas - you can work p/t, a lot of people gained a work foothold that way. Hospitality, like everywhere, is crying out for staff. Don't expect to get a salaried, f/t job in a profession or specialist area. Even with fluent French this is unlikely to happen. Aim lower to get a foot in the door & build on that. Plan on a couple of years at least to get established/ build a network. Lots of jobs become possible thro word of mouth.

It is quite challenging I must say. I have pretty good skills and it is still not the easiest to find work. I think networking is another huge component to consider. Who can be a great connection to a wonderful opportunity that suits you.
