Hi everybody, we're back with another very quick Chinese diesel heater video and this time we have covered fitting the stand pipe/fuel pick up to the tank provided in the kit. It is very easy to do all you will need is a Stanley Knife, 25mm drill bit or step up drill bit and an adjustable spanner.

The stand pipes are only supplied with some kits like the Maxpeedingrods, Lavaner pro and a few others. Don't worry if you didn't get one in your kit they are easy to find on Amazon, Ebay and AliExpress. Amazon are normally next day delivery but they are normally much cheaper on Aliexpress if you don't mind waiting. Please see links below...

Thanks heaps for this. Was fighting with my bastard of a tank for a good hour today. Drilled 18mm hole and inserted the pickup inside the tank and was trying to pull the top back up through the hole. Rage quit and had a look on KZfaq while mentally recharging and found this. Winner!

Great video! Sweet, short and concise, like my love life. But i digress. I was about to make a huge mistake had I not seen this. (No, not another wife.) The instructions have absolutely NOTHING on this, so Im demanding they give you a pay raise, effective immediately. Cheers!

Best I've found yet. Most videos are just for the standard nipple. And why does no one ever mention that you can tap a thread into the plastic on the tank for the nipples?

On the Mk 2 VW Crafter, there is a 3rd outlet port on top of the sender unit which sits on top of the diesel fuel tank. This port is blanked off and needs cutting near the top to expose the hole. Then you can use a VW fuel line made for this outlet ( £15) to use for the diesel heater.

so you can take the fuel from the top of the tank rather than the bottom where it can develop a dripping leak

Hi there, I'm fitting a Chinese heater in my van. Do you know what's the max distance or how far away from the heater can the fuel pump be. I'd appreciate your help.

Hi, yeah they push better than they pull and should be within 2 meters of the tank but closer is better. they can push for about 6 - 8 meters after the pump. It will take a long time to prime it and if you have the soft green fuel line it will struggle
