One trick that you all should learn is to get packing tape and tape the entire broken panel so you wont get glass shards all over. And it also makes the thing more easy to handle. Nice video.

Thanks so much. I broke my mother's iPad and as a 14-year old I thought fixing it was either hopeless, ore way out of my reach in expense. With this easy guide I bought a cheap 30$ OEM digitizer and replaced everything perfectly.

I enabled airplane mode on my ipad and tried to fly it across the room but it didn't work! now I have a broken screen AND I have to figure out why my airplane mode doesn't work. :(

Thanks for this video. I found a nice kit for the digitizer on Amazon for $18.00 that included the home button, adhesive and tools, very complete kit. The hardest part is getting panel off, it took me at least an hour but I was learning as I went. All-in-all this really helped me pull off a successful front panel replacement.

That was a good guide. I watched it once and successfully managed to replace my iPad 4 top glass and digitizer. Definitely not an easy repair and also very messy because as you pry the screen up it splinters into the tiniest of glass slivers that end up all over the place. At the end of the day however, I saved my self several hundred dollars by going DIY, but then I am an old PC technician.

Was scared to try, but figured had nothing to lose so after watching your video gave it a try. The screen cracked all to pieces so it took me a while to get it all loose and cleaned it up but after a few hours....SUCCESS :-) Thank you for your guidance!

This makes me feel a lot better seeing that its quite hollow underneath, had me worried for a short while there until I looked this up on my broken iPad now. Getting it fixed tomorrow hopefully, stuck some tape over an exposed gap for now.

looks do able. I like the fact you pointed out testing before removing the adhesive on the new glass. I have many examples of repairing stuff only to take them apart to reinsert the flex assembly ..

Worked well, took a fair bit of time but then my screen was in very bad shape. One thing to be aware of is that when you attach the new screen, make sure that the digitizer attachment is pushed in enough so that the broken white lines are flush with the fixing. If it isn't your screen won't work - like the guy says at the start this is a tricky fix, but I managed it using this video, one other thing to remember is to tape the screen your removing and do this somewhere where you can clean up afterwords as you will end up with tiny pieces of glass falling off as you remove it. Good luck 😎

Many people say that my iPad 2 is not fixable, but deep inside me I know it can be repaired. The only intact thing that probably works is the motherboard. I'll try to swap the motherboard with another iPad 2 (same model A1395) and I hope that it will work because there are lots of photos, videos, games and memories from my childhood. (I destroyed it when I got super angry as a kid.) Also can I swap the motherboard from the white bezel iPad to the black bezel version? (They are both A1395.) I hope that it will work.

I’ve had my IPad 2 for years and never cracked it but recently, for some reason I just became super clumsy and began to drop it so many times. The first time it was okay, the second time it literally fell on the screen and I knew it’d be cracked but surprisingly, it wasn’t and I was like “wow this thing is indestructible!”....literally 10 minutes later I drop it one last time and the screen completely shatters😑

The glass is only about $10-15 on amazon. Far less than the $50-150 he quotes in the video. Takes less than 10 minutes for someone who is comfortable building computers and handling electronics to do this. Thanks for the video, was A++

just did it. Took about an hour with a bad crack. Take your time and be patient is all I can say. Make sure the connections are in securely.

I fixed mine with a hammer and duct tape. It still works perfectly, as a target for my 9mm pistol.

Easy enough. Remember to check that the LCD touch works before putting on the glass. Mine didn't work, but since the glass was loose, i took it off, and attached the wires again. I applied just a bit of glue, and now it works great

I have a question: my gals is NOT broken, but the "touch" sensitiveness start to fail: some zone does not "respond" to the touch , gently o strong the pressure I put on it. Need a screen protector desperate now for my iPad. Couple of small cracks around the top notch and 2 cracks go onto the actual screen a bit.

My dad's ipad's screen is a goner. My fault. I need to fix it before he finds out. Sigh. I want to bring it to this repair shop but I read this comment that the repair shop doesn't use proper screens since the screen was thinner and the screen broke again soon after by just touching it. There are also lots of positive reviews but I don't know whether I should trust them. If I just hand the iPad over to apple its going to take too long. I need an on the spot repair. There aren't that many options where I live. I seriously don't know what to do. Help!

To minimize the glass shards flying everywhere, use a wide tape over the whole screen to keep the glass more contained.

Its extremely simple, as long as you have the patience and correctly follow the steps

Guys don't do this, it doesn't work, you should NEVER try and fix something like this yourself, it's safer to get it sent somewhere and fixed, either send it to Apple (if you have the money) or look up some legitimate companies that do it cheaper but not TOO expensive like apple And you can see here his screen isn't fine because if you look at the game centre logo from 5:05 onwards you can see it flickering implying the screen wasn't fixed properly. I know a lot of my friends who did stuff like this and it messed up their phones and iPads really badly. It's not worth the risk unless you really know what you are doing
