How is this "fixing" a dead battery??

Hi I have a Nikon p1000 - I charge the batteries using a Newmowa charger and up to recently it had worked well. I put in the batteries and I can use the camera up to a month after. Recently I charge the batteries and I find that the camera does not turn on after 4-5 days. What is happening? The camera is 3 years old. Appreciate your help.

Hey! I have bought a Coolpix SQ and it came with a battery. I charged the battery however after using the camera for a minute or so (or after taking 3 photo's) a message appear saying the battery is exhausted. Does this mean the battery isn't good anymore? I just checked the original battery and it's holding a 4.8v charge So what's my next Check Point? I forgot to mention that the Selector Switch would not stay on the Setting, it kept Jumping between 3 other Settings. Do you think it's the Power Button?

I just got a secondhand D5000 off of MPB that was in good condition and came with a battery and the Nikon charger. I fully charged it and put it in and the camera just beeps for like 2 seconds straight whenever I switch it on or off, nothing works. The Original battery that came with the Nikon is a ( NIKON LITHIUM BATTERY PACK EN-EL23 3.8V 1850mAH 7.1Wh ). The serial no L6UBB.. Will let you know what I find out.

I had good luck with aftermarket batteries. They don't last as long but so far haven't caused any issues.

Bro while I do put my 🔋 on charger initialy it's blinks as normal and after few mins it's the orange light get still as like charging finished.but the same battery when in insert and start to turn on my D5300 📷 display get on and green led of camara also gets on for just a second and again nothing happens.like a dead one.could you please suggest me to by a new battery or a M-24 charger?

The Nikon P520 Coolpix had a problem with the firmware when it was first released (Version 1.0 of the firmware). Some interaction with the built-in GPS meant that under certain conditions it would power down but then not switch on - Giving the impression that the battery was dead. The solution was to remove the battery and leave the camera without its battery for a number of hours (preferably overnight). There must be some sort of capacitor circuit in the camera that needs to slowly discharge to return it to its original state. Hopefully, when you put the battery back in in the morning the camera should switch on as normal. To stop the issue from happening again upgrade the firmware to Version 1.1. - As of July 2023 the firmware upgrade and instructions for installing it were still available on the Nikon website. I guess that over the years the issue has caused a lot of perfectly good Nikon batteries and maybe even a few Coolpix P520s to be thrown away unnecessarily.

I charged my battery, and my D70 still says "CHA" and it won't turn on. I have a Nikon charger and it shows that it is charged. I can't buy a D70 battery from the Nikon website, as it's classed as "archived", so I can only get a 3rd party off Amazon, but they're hella expensive... What do you recommend in that instance, when I can only get a 3rd party? My charger is brand new and only used once.

Sometimes the problem is with the charging cable, not the battery. Mine wouldn't start or even take a charge. Then I swapped out the wall plug charger (with an old Samsung phone charger) and now its charging just fine...

Hi. I have a Nikon battery exactly like the one you recommend here, the grey Nikon EL 1230mAh, 8.9Wh and when I try it in my Nikon D3100 I get a message, "This battery Cannot be used. Short solution. You can't fix a dead battery as the video suggests. In saying that if you're tech savvy, you may be able to pry apart the shell of your current dead battery and replace the failed cells in side. you're welcome.

You do realize that that's not at all the only type of nikon battery. Those are for the smaller dinkier cameras. The bigger cameras have bigger batteries.

This video doesn't really answer the question it asked. My battery is dead, not flat, but DEAD. The charger flashes, but doesn't go to solid light after charge, it goes out. The camera won't power up after a full charge cycle. This video didn't 'FIX' anything, just told me to charge my battery. Not helpful, sorry. 😞

This just felt like an advert for buying Nikon kit, not actually fixing a dead battery as the title says it is. For me, this video was no help.
