In this video I walk you through step by step how to repair a blown head gasket, and save thousands $$. It’s a complete miracle!
I recommend at least watching the first couple of minutes to see how bad the oil looked before. Then if you want to see the conclusion if it worked skip ahead to 18:26. In the video I put 16:53, and that is incorrect. If you found this content helpful and want to see more like it, or other helpful videos subscribe below.

@@rickgipson3556 I’m not entirely certain. The nice thing about this stuff is it’s cheap compared to a new engine, so I may be able to get you by. The way I saw it was it’s worth a shot for the price. If it works great if not I had to rebuild the engine anyway, and they offer a money back guarantee so they will refund you the money for the product. I can tell you I was extremely surprised at how well it worked for me. The truck is still running great with no signs of water in the oil. Good luck!

from down here in New Zealand…. i was in two minds about using a liquid repair on my Toyota Turbo Diesel when it started losing coolant…especially when my engine had been modified…EGR delete…bigger exhaust pipe…after market engine chip…ECU re-map and boost increase…bigger injectors…all of these mods create more heat and much higher and hotter cylinder pressures than stock…which is probably what caused the head gasket blowout to begin with…but then i thought what the heck…after all a new cylinder head was going to put me back $4500 with labour…so i used a different product to the one you used…’Rislone Gasket and Block Sealant’…long story short it worked…that was six months ago…no coolant loss no overheating and the compression came back…i could kiss the guy that invented this….but then he’s probably a 6ft 9 inch tall Hells Angel and knock me through a row of shit tins…Subscribed bro!

😂🤣. Hell yeah bro!! It’s pretty incredible the stuff actually works. I was completely floored as well. But I will say it’s not at all a long term or permanent fix. Wow...I'm amazed at the results! I recently bought a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport from a mechanic my son knows 5 weeks ago. I failed to learn about the maintenance cuz mechanic was driving it to and from work. FIVE weeks later the air conditioner started blowing hot air, overheated and stalled in traffic. Mechanic says most likely it has blown head gasket. Must be internal he says. I want more proof and your video is teaching me what to do. I do not want to pay $1500.00 when I bought it for $950. I told him to use a gasket sealant. Not sure what kind. I'm trying to decide how to approach mechanic. It was running close to high on temp gage when I bought it. Oil reserves were normal. Not sure if it was clouded. Gonna go in person to ask lots of questions Blue Devil worked for your car and hoping it'll work on mine. Thanks for your hard work and expertise!

My 2014 Grand cherokee is leaking coolant externally, theres no coolant in my oil, nor white smoke, but its for sure leaking coolant. I hit something and it bent my radiator and heater core. The shop replaced that, also there's bubbling in my reservoir, and it smells like exhaust fumes, so im thinking it's either a headgasket, or block. but the compression is great on the engine.
@Verticalpedalgarage
@Verticalpedalgarage 2 жыл бұрын
This is kind of like doing rocket science over the phone. Lol. First place I would start is making sure the external leaks are fixed, and do an exhaust gas vapor test. It’s a kit you can buy that uses a chemical that changes color when exhaust bubbles out of your coolant. Then I would make sure there isn’t any water in my oil, or any coolant consumption. If there is, then you need to do a leak down test to find out what cylinder it’s coming from. I’m not a mechanic though so my advice is nothing more than where I would start, not advice at all on how to fix the problem. So do with it what you will. Good luck.

Did you flush your engine of the water and milky oil before using blue devil or just put in fresh new oil and proceed?? I have new radiator so no need to flush it. My oil looks just as yours did. Was wondering if i need flush engine out after drain oil or just do new oil and filter and proceed with blue devil??? Your video gives me great confidence that it will work for me. Thank you.

I changed the oil before blue devil then after. The after oil probably didn’t even need to be done. They say it’s not necessary to change it before the treatment either. I did because rings could easily get damaged. So the way I see it, is with the multiple oil changes it’s going to at a minimum flush the water out of the oiling system. I’m not an expert by any means, I just wanted to pass on what worked for me, and hopefully others will find success as well.

It ran when I pulled the engine a couple months ago. It had around 7,000-8,000 on it daily driving for about a year. I was only using this for two reasons. 1 I was very curious if it would actually work. I had read it worked great so I figured I’d give it a shot. 2. I was only hoping I could get this engine to last long enough to be able to gather parts for an LQ4 4l80e swap, and it did, without issue. My brother used it in an old Dodge 318, and it worked for around 6,000 miles then it let go. With that said, I would never use it as a permanent solution. I think it’s a fantastic option to get you out of a bind. If you’re stranded on the side of the road, or need you vehicle to get you by until you can afford to have it fixed correctly, or be able to have more time to get the job done.

@@Verticalpedalgarage Got it. So it went for 13,000 to 14,000 more miles, that's amazing ... I've got a 1998 Suburban K1500 that I believe needs this (It overheated, swapped the thermostat, ran GREAT for another 200 miles, sat for two days, on the next start, white smoke, a Cylinder 4 misfire code and running very rough) ... and the cost to fix it correctly is more than the value of the vehicle, so for a few more months out of it, this seems like a good solution... :) Thanks :) Off to the store...

If you only have smoke you might need to keep diagnosing out issue. Understand the difference between smoke and steam, do you have water in you oil? Do you have oil in your water? There are many other reasons you could have smoke. Bad piton rings, or valve seal’s would produce smoke. If you have steam then, yeah head gasket or intake gasket.

From my reading and watching, you are not supposed to use any silicate product where it mixes with the oil. You will likely do that engine swap much sooner than anticipated.

How has this been holding up 1 year later?
@Verticalpedalgarage
@Verticalpedalgarage 2 жыл бұрын
It held up fine. I pulled the engine to swap in an LS. My brother used the same stuff after he saw the success I had, and it last about 6 months till it gave way. So results definitely vary. It’s not at all a permanent fix. I feel it’s only good to get you out of a bind till you can find time or save up the money to do a proper repair.

So you would spend $3000-$6000 instead of $30 on a car or truck that is only worth $3000-$4000 and has 160,000 miles on it? That makes absolutely no sense! If your going to spend that money, then you should just use that $3000-$6000 for a down payment for a newer vehicle.

Leave it out while you’re doing the treatment. If you don’t it can clog up your radiator and water jackets. Once your finished and drain the blue devil put your thermostat back in.

@Verticalpedalgarage
@Verticalpedalgarage 3 жыл бұрын
@@OscarHernandez-tl3qk you can run it without, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that. In order for your engine to run optimally you need the thermostat. If you have an automatic transmission your radiator also acts to keep your transmission at optimal temp which also relies on your thermostat.

if it was me.. i would disconnect the hoses from the rad and connect them together ... take out the t-stat , then use flat clamps to pinch the hoses in and out of the heater lines... this way the bluedevil can circulate to the head gasket without bloacking anything else

@@Verticalpedalgarage between my friend and I we have done 4 Cadillac Northstar engines. Flush with distilled water twice and add Thermalweld. 2500 RPM for 9 minutes. Cool down for 30 minutes and continue for another 9 min 2500rpm let the engine fully cool off and it will be fixed. Blue devil will fixed small head cracks but this stuff will seal just about anything that has a combustion leak. You also have to use low toxic coolant after performing the treatment or it will eat away at the compound. Hopefully this info helps for next time because I’m not confident that bluedevil is going to hold for very long. What’s the long term update?

I pulled the engine about a year after I did this, and it was still running fine. I haven’t torn it down to fix it because I bought a LQ4 to swap in. Every engine and application will have different results. My brother did this in his Dodge 318 and it lasted about 6 months.

No real update. It lasted about a year maybe 10,000 miles until I pulled the engine. My brother used it in his old dodge and it worked great for about 5,000 miles (if I remember correctly) then it let go. It’s not a permanent fix by any means. But it’s good to get you by for a short period of time while you save to have a mechanic fix the problem or to be able to have time to make the fix yourself at a convenient time.

Why don’t try to change the head gasket your self? You have a garage and that take may 2 or 3 days head gaskets cost around 155 dls a set just desassembly intake manifold and accesories (alternator, power steering pump, ac compressor etc ) valve cover take off exhaust manifold, chain tensioner( make sure a correct position on that simple put a mark with a permanent color on chains and gear ⚙️) take out the bolts on head cylinders and remove the old gasket clean the head very well to make sure your heads is not bowed put that in a 1/2 inch glass table with a 100 paper sand and sand it assembly back together and ready!
@Verticalpedalgarage
@Verticalpedalgarage Жыл бұрын
I’m 100% able to change the head gaskets. I’ve just always been curious if this stuff actually works. I never intended to keep the engine, and now I know of I was ever stuck on a trail or in the middle or nowhere, I can just throw some of this stuff in and make it home. Like I said in the video, I would never recommend or use this as a permanent fix. However I do feel it’s a viable option to get you by. Thanks for watching!
