How to fix a Mercedes Benz C-Class head rest deployed after accident - W203
In this video, my W203 car has the head rest extended after an accident. I show how to push it back by depressing a level situated within the head rest.

Thanks for the video, it worked great! Just as a note, on one seat, I had to fold back some flap inside the headrest in order to gain access to the hole I had to poke in, and then it worked as well.

It wasn’t going back in until I forced it down quickly like you did in the second head rest. It worked!!!

Followed your instructions and it worked. Used a wire hanger, cut it down to size. Thanks

Why does the headrest expand in an accident?

i presume when the head rest expands it reduces the distance between the head rest and the steering wheel to reduce the amount of head travel to and fro in an accident- whiplash. But thats my own logic, dont know for sure.
