We have a Culligan branded reverse osmosis system in our kitchen to provide drinking water, water for coffee or tea, water for cooking . . . you get the idea. Lately, the flow has been getting worse and worse. We would turn the system on and water would flow well for a few seconds, then slow, and finally trickle to a virtual stop. We started to wonder if the system was breaking down in some way. I called Culligan to arrange a visit. First, however, the person I spoke to suggested I try a rather odd trick with a bicycle pump. Check out my video and I'll show you how that worked.

I called Culligan today. They did the opposite of help and answer questions. Their advice was to schedule an appointment with a tech. I know from past experiences that I would be $400 out the door. Thank you

Wow! thank you so much for this. i called culligan and they tell me it will cost $350 for them to come out and check the system. and $160 to buy the replacement filters. what a ripoff of these businesses. they could have simply suggested simple things like this for folks to try. i appreciate you and for taking the time to post this simple fix. Don't recall them telling us this at the time of installation. thank you!

Culligan quoted me over $400 to replace my filters. I've watched the culligan tech change my filters over the years and just paid. I decided this week to do the filter replacement myself. I found replacement filters on Amazon for less than $50 and when I watched another video on how to do the replacement, it seems simple. But I was concerned about the pressure in the tank, since they always adjust it when Culligan does it. I was about to give up when I found your video. So simple. Bicycle pump and a pressure meter will do it.THANK YOU🤓

@@wftl yeah definitely, also I had to de-pressurize the cylinder which was over 10psi , take out the water and re-inflate it at 10psi. If I do this, I gotta wait like 30mts or so to see the water flowing back out at the right speed?

do i just twist the knob to shut off the water or get a 4 head screw driver? it’s hard to twist

We are having the same problem and it is a royal pain. I distinctly remember our Culligan man showing that stem to us and telling us about this trick years ago however when we went to access the stem it was missing. At least that's what I thought until my husband looked and found it. Evidently the new tanks have that feature but the stem is located on the bottom of the tank right smack dab in the middle making it harder to access. You have to put the tank on its side.

@@bransonmcdonald3420 I KNOW! It's such a pain! I love the system when it's working but our attempt at fixing it failed. The Culligan people told me to try to find a plumber to fix it because the only Culligan repair men near me only work on large commercial systems. If the bladder inside the tank is split then you have to get a new tank. The Culligan people said they would call me back to help get a new tank but haven't.

Hmm, mine's a smaller unit under the sink, but I've found the same tank there, pumped it up, will see in the morning if anything changes.

Mio test.. 4lt.prelevati 18litri a perdere. È corretto? È possibile diminuire il consumo di acqua di scarto e da cosa dipende questa eccessiva dispersione. Un saluto Grazie

Ciao, Sergio, and thank you. My Italian is less than ideal for writing, so please forgive my English answer. Yes, classic reverse osmosis systems are that wasteful when it comes to water. We have recently switched to a tankless, and powered, reverse osmosis system (this one: amzn.to/3LK2VcK ) and it only uses 2 litres to produce 1 litre of filtered water. Much more efficient and, as a bonus, you never run out of water!

Hi Marcel thanks for your answer but I'm back on AC30 CULLIGAN..I wanted to solve this puzzle. Now I take 4 liters of drinking water and empty the tank. To refill the 4 liters in the tank, I drain 16/17 liters in about 2h30min. WAITING FOR YOUR ANSWER FOR ME VERY IMPORTANT.

@wftl
@wftl 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ron. Sorry for the slow reply. That was a few years ago and we bought their 5 stage system; it was somewhere around $600 at the time. Looking at their site now, it looks like they just rent. That said, we took out the old system (after 10 years) and replaced it with a Waterdrop tankless under counter system, a G2 P600, which we bought from Amazon for $550 Canadian. It's fantastic and you never have to wait for the tank to fill.

@@wftl Thanks so much or replying back with the information. I am really thinking about getting one. Are you impressed with the system . Our water here is lousy and I am so tired buying bottled water.
@wftl
@wftl 2 жыл бұрын
@@Ron-yf9jl Yes, I am definitely impressed with the Waterdrop system and it was really very easy to install. The biggest thing, in my case, is that I needed to run power to the center island where the kitchen sink sits. With the Culligan system that use a tank, we were always running out of water. That's no longer a problem.
