Got my kit from you guys and installed it yesterday, and flat out the Sputhe instructions that come with it are crap. Your video helped immensely getting the kit installed. Thanks for the tip in moving the wiring for the rear motor mount. I did pull the rear brake reservoir and the belt guard to get clear access to the bolts, but was lucky didn't have to remove the rear tire or exhaust. getting that bracket threaded was the only really challenging part when you're doing the install by yourself. Other than that the kit went in no problem. Thanks again.

Ive installed a few True Tracks and a Sputhe over the years. I know its not for beginners, but the rear can be installed without removing the rear wheel; I do it with the bike on the stand myself. The only other thing that surprises me here is that no one is either showing or recommending that the alignment of the power train be checked and trued after installing the stabilizers, especially since these stabilizers literally make a horizontal powertrain alignment on Dynas possible. More importantly though, is the vertical powertrain alignment, which should always be checked if an FXD has a wobble. I have found that the FSM method of doing this is not accurate, and that it is much better to measure the mount to mount lengths on the shocks, and any difference here is indicative of the powertrain being out of alignment vertically. You cannot use a tape measure for this, you must use a tool designed specifically for this that has sockets to fit over the top mounting nut and the bottom mounting fastener. Once, a bike I put a True Track on and set alignment per the manual, with a digital inclinometer on the seat pan reading 0*, and adjusted the top link on the motor until the inclinometer on the rear rotor read 90*, and yet the bike still wobbled at high speeds. Upon further checking the shock mount distances, I found that the distance on one side was longer by around .1875", and, after adjusting the top link until both sides were equal (inclinometers and FSM instructions be damned), the bike handles great.

I'm a newby to all things HD, so when I see this video of this wobble issue correction device for the first time, my first thought is how the hell is this ok with anyone who bought those bikes. This wobble issue should have been a HD factory recall, and they should have been held responsible and liable for the cost of repair or correction. Am I wrong to see it this way? Apparently, from all the other HD service videos on KZfaq, it seems that if NASA had hired the same HD engineers, we would still be trying to get to the moon.

I've had the Sputhe kit for years (not from you guys, sorry, but direct from Alan Sputhe RIP), and it is REALLY good. He made good stuff but his instructions are crud :). The rear is very fiddly to fit (as any of the similar ones are) but if you take your time and do a bit of research etc it all goes together eventually :). But yeah, an absolutely recommended handling upgrade.

Just did the front motor mount on my 2012 DWG and was beating myself up trying to get the upper/front bolt back in. Then I just used a carpenter's C-clamp to squeeze the whole thing to the right and was able to get the clearance I needed finally. Do not suggest trying that if you're like me and don't have a lift/stabilizer, it is maddening.

I bought a 13 model FXDB 2 months ago . I had death wobble around 90 miles on the highway and it got worse day by day, finally i found out my rear rim was out balanced and 2 of my spokes broken recently due to it. My bad i did not check the rims before i bought the bike. Rear rim alignment and/or spoke adjustment is one of the biggest reasons of wobble. I had it fixed this week now the bike goes lika a train. Check your rims and spokes before anything else.

Death wobble, AKA change your tires, put the stock length rear shocks on the bike, check the bearings, wheel alignment, and lower the bars to a reasonable width and height. I've had my Dyna at the limit several times in corners above 80mph and have never experienced a wobble. Not until I wore my tires down on long road hauls. To the point where the edge of the tire is more square then round. At that point the back end gets squirrely.

I got this kit from get low cycles very disappointing. The sent me a used returned kit. I opened the box bolts scattered everywhere luckily everything but a couple washers were there. Went to put it on my 2017 street bob. The front bottom bolt wouldn’t come out just hit the frame like in the video so I put it on backwards like you guys said. Then ran into my second issue I believe it’s my ingnition control system under the voltage regulator on the front bottom of my bike I couldn’t mount that back up the way it was I had to use the bottom hole on the CDI mount and bolt it to the top bolt on the front motor mount bolts to raise it up a little higher so it wouldn’t hit the spluth linkage. The rear was def a pain the wiring coming from the bottom of the bike got in the way I was able to leave my two brothers exhaust on but had to take the back tire and chain guard off and the rear master cylinder. You def can not do this job in a hour straight lie idc who you are maybe two but that be the fastest

since HD started to insert rubber in their blueprints...you know...the thing is logical...rubber during the time gets wasted, loosing itself from the frame, ...that´s the price paid trying to eliminate the vibration from the original blueprints, the stabilizer is a great workaround for that...but always remember...the more the rubber gets wasted, the more the vibration passes to the stabilizer, so...during the time you practically ends in returning your bike to the blueprints without rubber...Harley is OHV engine, not OHC, if you don´t want vibration, then you are riding with the wrong engine and brand...but since harley abandoned it´s origins, you guys have livewire now thanks to your savior... Jochen Zeits, ...right? If you want it fixed properly by keeping the vibration absorbtion, the only way is replacing the rubbers until it gets wasted again...and so on...stabilizer will just make it old school again, but with more security.

Why did H.D. even release these bikes with this problem. What..they have no one test riding them at high speeds? Where is quality control? Now you have to spend more money on aftermarket crap to get it to run right. This is why H.D. Is going down the toilet. Their engineering is going backwards not forwards.

The older they get the more of a problem it becomes as tolerances due to wear add up. Rubber, bearings, and human error all exacerbate the problem. And any bike can have this problem if not properly maintained.

One thing that pisses me off about Harley Davidson. They produce shitty motorcycles and the consumer has to pay for a shitty design, that Harley Davidson should pay for as a recall. Dyna wobble for one and if you have an older Dyna, the crappy cam tensioners fall apart and brick your motor. Another Harley Davidson FIASCO. RECALL the crap and stop making consumers pay for shitty design flaws.

Why the fuck should anyone have to fix, what is an obvious factory defect. These bikes should never leave the factory until this problem is corrected. Oh wait, Furd trucks do the same thing and they get away with it.

I hot my first bike at 16, a honda twin star and never had a problem with it. I'm 57 and have had a dozen bikes in my life. Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. My current bike is a Yamaha Vstar 1300 deluxe and havent had one problem with it, especially a death wobble like this. So yes, I watch videos like this.

You pay good money for a Harley-Davidson and get crap for your buck. We'll I got sucked in by Harley-Davidson, never again, they are one of the worst motorcycle I have ever ridden. That's my opinion. Check it before you leave the bike shop, the suspension is shit, all new harly bikes suspension is not set right. They are set up all over the place. The front fork bolts, snapped, and I think you get the pitcher, not good at around 45ks. It's only got one bolt a side to hold the top fork piece in place. Death trap. They are just not a good motorcycle. Sorry to say. You how ride a harley-davidson now exactly what I'm saying. Stay up right. And go cheap match safer.
