Very rare leak and great lesson. I have to admit you're a lot more methodical than me I would've pulled the whole dishwasher out and flipped it on its back. You should be at 50k very soon!

WELL DONE...... I'm a general contractor. I'm not building custom homes currently, but for my clients and some new people I take on I have put myself on call 24/7 for whatever they need done. I've never been so busy and love doing what I'm doing. I'm very lucky and very busy and very happy. No matter what you do, you can do the same thing, with some adjustments of course, but just make that leap. I know I'm oversimplifing things, but give it a shot, even it could be very worth it to ya..... good luck brothers and sisters.... .......... cfnc

Thank you for the video, I have the exact same leak, and I happened on this fix. Mine was kind of a seal instead of a deflector, the corners were tucked in on both sides, so i used a small pick to straiten the seal. Hopefully it was the problem. Sorry that i did not take pics or a video, but will let you know in the morning.👌

I had a leak from that same location once. I would say it's definitely a rare one to have. On the leak I had, the hose was barely in the funnel to where it was pointing at the side of it. The water was splashing out 💦 when the dishwasher would fill. Everyday is a school day as Lav likes to say 👍

@@lawofattractionc61 Great question law of attraction. That's the water inlet hose that is connected to the water inlet valve (solenoid) that fills the machine. The funnel looking piece is just GE's design that they have mounted to the side of the machine for the hose to attach to. 👍

Perhaps a change in water pressure in the house making this overflow. Reducing water flow to the dishwasher may solve the problem

I was removing the lower spray arm, and filter, and broke 451, d spray arm lower. Is that a snap in piece, or does the whole tub have to come out?

Love your videos...I have a dishwasher that is leaking from the float located in the corner. It fills with water and will not drain during the washing cycle. Any suggestions?

Could be a bad solenoid. I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔. As it could be a few things.

@@LexVance well first and foremost I appreciate your feedback...I had the same thought so I replaced the solenoid....the problem is the dishwasher runs however when the cycle is finished it fills the dishwasher tub up and there is standing water with clean dishes. Definitely a head scratcher 🤔

Lex,I noticed yesterday when I hooked up my portable dishwasher and turned on the water at faucet, that I could hear water running under my dishwasher ,but when I put it in dishwasher start position ,the water stoped leaking on outside of dishwasher,does this mean I have a broken hose???please tell me what u think may be the problem

Mine has a small rust area underneath, and is leaking from there. (Small leak) Can I seal the leak with Flex Seal, Pumbers Epoxy or something similiar?

No, the hot water will soften it and it will keep leaking. You'll need a new dishwasher if there's a hole in it.

I am pretty mechanically and fairly electrically inclined, when I purchase a new dishwasher, is this something that should be fairly easy for me to do on my OWN, or would you suggest I hire an electrician to install for me? Is there anything specific I need to look out for if I do it myself such as fitting sizes, or hose size on a new dish washer? Sorry if these questions seem Elementary but since my husband passed away I am doing a lot of these DIY projects, and learning as I go. LOL Thank you in advance

@Ysavino Depends on what dishwasher you get. They're all different. I would need to be there. KZfaq is tremendously helpful, though. Just KZfaq "How to install a dishwasher" and see if they have the brand you get. I hope everything works out for you!

I have a leak when the drain solenoid engages. Its a leaks where the shaft goes into the drain control. Cant believe I have to replace a assembly for what a quality little seal would prevent.

Dishwashers get worse and worse every day. I am constantly finding “new” places where new dishwashers leak. What happened to the good old days where the only leaks on a dishwasher were at the fill solenoid or the door gasket? I found one the other day where a metal spoon got stuck between the bottom of the plastic tub and the element. The heat melted a hole through the tub.

Ge is making crap these days. The dishwashers have bad solenoids and the laundry centers have been leaking from the bottom where the transmission connects to the drum , which to fix you need a special wrench and it's still a pain in the ass to damn near impossible to separate the tub from the transmission. You could buy the transmission and tub assembly together but it's like 100 or so cheaper than just buying a new laundry center...crap crap crap

What's up man have you ever seen those little rubber seals, think they are called deflectors go bad and cause a leak? They are in bottom corners of some dishwasher brands

looks like a bean counters cost cutting measure, lol. I think they did at one time on a different model before the hose holder guide was cast into the tub, I think they were getting broken and hose ripped out being smashed into tight cabinets.
