Suggested fixes: 1. Lift stick up 2. Move stick around and clean what you can expose 3. Press sticks down and rotate them in each direction 4. Reset the controller with the button on the bottom

@@JBlazeGaming_ I had 2 Xbox 360 controllers which lasted pretty much the entire lifespan of the 360. And I had to replace one ps4 controller across that gen. And in the time since the PS5’s launch. I’ve used 4 fucking controllers which have all ended up drifting in some way. Not to mention switch’s painful joycons. Shit’s getting more expensive and lower in quality.

@@lukedillon4584 I took apart my PS5 controller and where the thumb sticks are there’s two colored parts that help the controller movement. On the inside is a washer with grooves that’s really thin and wears out easy with no way we can repair it ourselves

@@JBlazeGaming_Just finished taking apart a PS5 controller and found the same thing. Tried to rig a replacement since I have a million misc. things like washers, caps, housings etc. laying about. Managed to fit it in and so far so good. Guess we will see how well it does in the meantime. I ended up ordering some replacement Hall Effect joystick modules so when those get here I will be done with drift for a long time. Much cheaper than a new controller for sure. Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm doing a little experiment where I took a separate controller with drift and coated the resistance pad inside the potentiometer (resistance pad wearing down is the main cause of drift) so that it is more fortified. Hope to see that it provides a more long term solution without outright replacing the module altogether.

My left stick would drift to the left HARD. I did exactly what you suggested, I used a q tip with rubbing alcohol and a blow-dryer( not long, the heat can melt stuff) and now it works perfectly

@@user-it2jb8op7d Yeah, I will say this was a very temporary fix. Maybe lasts a day if even, but if I pull it loose, rotate it, pop it back and hold it down while rotating back and forth like shown it does work for me for like a day.

I've had my ps5 since launch and never had any issue until recently. So weird, now all three of my controllers have stick drift. One of them I got for Christmas last year so it's only about 4 months old.. About to try this later today

My brand new controller started drifting after about 1 month of having it. I got it as a replacement for my original controller that was also drifting. So I made sure not to touch the controller with messy hands. Sony just shit the bed

@@Averagebannana ultimately no, it didn't. It worked for a while but I eventually had to take it in for repair. Sony's repair sucks, try something local.

0:05 there was a lot of repressed anger in that take. And I get it. Oh God do I understand.... I do this constantly and blow into it with condensed air... The problem always comes back within sometimes a few minutes or an hour. It always comes back... Really sucks.

Ladies and gentlemen listen to me I'm the cure with you no disrespect to this channel or the person none of these method works let me explain to you Sony knows what they're doing it's all cuz of these analogs have magnetic when you wear and tear it it does not connect to the magnetic guys when you have stick drift don't waste your time opening up cleaning it cuz I don't wasted two controllers by doing it guys doesn't matter how many times you watch videos or by controllers until Sony gets rid of this kind of style where the best analog controller ever is the Nintendo 64 or if you buy a third party that don't have these magnetic analogs guys always you know Tom watching these videos when this happens best thing to do is take it to GameStop and try to salvage to get some kind of money or store credit if not guys go ahead keep watching these dumb videos where I just explain to you why stick just happened
