One relevant point that everyone seems to overlook... we have wipes! It's not a problem to remove the flea market for a wipe. It's also not a problem to remove other things for a wipe, like a trader, some weapons at traders... Or make the player scav unavailable for a wipe. Or have the bosses at 100% from the start, and so on... we have wipes, it doesn't always have to be the same.

the labs cards are interesting. only a few of them actually even unlock good loot in labs, perhaps making them more common isnt a bad thing, if people get labs cards more, more people might play labs. why is a RKC worth 90 million rubles when you never used to get anything good out of it? do we really need items in game worth 10's of millions of rubles?

1:34:52 could literally just be a a single byte of data per field needed so 6 bytes over like 100k items (idk the actual number but just for an example) that would be 600 KB for the ENTIRE collection of items in the game. Taking a screenshot on my computer is larger than 600 KB.

To the "It's a match!" topic... It is possible to arrive at a very close polygon count if you are creating a 3D model from an existing object and trying to be optimal. Not necessarily identical, but very close. Especially if the opject is not too complicated in form (Dust Cover). From the pictures I have seen I think there are some slight differences. I would rather check the UV maps (How the polygons are sorted on a 2D plane for texturing). It is highly unlikely that two artists would arrive at the same sorting of the UV-Islands on the texture plane, even if the models are very simelar. Every Artist has it's own UV-Mapping worklflow and would set the seams on the model not in the same way, at least not for every loop cut. (think having a cardboard cube and want to cut it open so you can lay it out flat on a plane)

Id love to hear the real reason people think Tarkov is hardcore. the only thing that is hardcore to me anymore is the fact that PvP is a coinflip of luck due to the netcode still and the weird recoil. just like Veritas video. Killing someone just feels so bad these days because its luck or something that had nothing to do with skill. i just couldnt do it anymore. 0 joy left. love the show boys. really do. i appreciate you guys. Marked room needed a boost in it's loot. it was such a joke to find this insanely rare key (that BSG made this way, we would find customs marked on dead scavs back in the day) and get stock weapons and some cheap loot. Keep BSG on the edge, don't settle now guys, not after what they did to us.

I really dont understand why bsg struggles with making marked rooms interessting without making them op. There is no reason to 50x the spawned loot. Just add keycards back to the actual pool of spawns, make them still rare of course, add some cases back to it, also rare and change to gun spawns so that they always spawn decked out with mods. Maybe to fully meta always, but all "slots" should be filled on a gun. So that when you get a fucking AKSU in your 6mil key marked room it at least is modded with a grip, new buttstock, scope and suppressor or compensator. AND spawn it with 2-3 mags of extra ammo. Can be mid tear ammo

My issue with the FIR event as I understand it (I haven't came back) it doesn't remove the FIR for tasks that would have been a winner for me to go to the flea and buy something like the noodles for Jager without having to go no life woods or ground zero to find noodles.

Found in raid: what great points. Unique integers (designations / descriptors) are needed to fully describe each type of item your PMC/Scav takes out of raid / crafts ) buys due to the complexity of the game to determine if it can be sold on the flea &/or turned in for a quest. Similarly to your comment about how before the flee, wires that you fri weren't recognized as fri, sometimes you kill a boss or do something else before you get a certain quest (kill someone with a grenade). None of those things count towards that quest completion. That's bad game design too. IRL would be Jager says hey kill Gluhar and prove to me you have by bringing me something of his (I think it should be an item specific to him, but they have bigger pockets, so it doesn't just have to be his helmet or armor) and your response might be yeah me and my bro ran into that guy two weeks agi and I smoked him here's his "x". Or I've already killed 5 dudes with names before grenader and they count for that total. For kills, they already store the data in some format, check your player stats sometime. The lack of comprehension and the lack of rational thought from the community surrounding this issue is startling, depressing and most tellingly pervasive. Yep, blanket "solutions" to complex problems suck. Complex problems require complex solutions. It does feel like a lost cause. The conversation is open again, but it doesn't appear the devs understand (at this late date) the point that a complex system with an oversimplified "solution" is far inferior and causes many more unforeseen consequences that can't be easily remedied. Meanwhile a more complex solution, that accurately accounts for all the "important" variables can solve all the problems, because it has enough bandwidth to do so. And this more complex model also provides the ability to fix unforeseen issues that arise from the initial fix(es) without simultaneously creating new problems in other "important" variables in the equation that are working just fine at the moment. Veritas your "hardcore" description is perfectly accurate! 🤣😭 The same goes for your point about BSG relying on content creators to collectively produce the tutorials, with updates for their game. For the average player, EFT would be completely unplayable without the countless hours you guys have put in over the years. Jessie, hope springs eternal but given BSG's track record it is unlikely that the devs are in search of elegant solutions to EFT's many issues. Veritas, given the obvious pains you went to scientifically evaluate an aspect of EFT game play when creating your content I was truly aghast that Nikita and the rest of the devs have ignored the suggestions you made surrounding the integers (labels) assigned to items in a player's stash. Then I thought about why the devs got rid of Steam audio. Please let me know if you disagree with this. I think Steam audio was the best sound EFT has ever had. I could tell how far away a player was, what direction they were in 360°, and whether they were above/below/on my floor in a multistory building. I only recall it not working well when players were in stairwells. I also recall Nikita saying they were dumping Steam audio and going to Oculus after Steam audio techs told the EFT devs that any further sound improvements would require the EFT devs to fix things with the game's code. Anyone who's played since the change knows how bad Oculus is. It sounds to me like we've had very bad audio for years because EFT didn't want to fix underlying issues with the game's code. The found in raid issues would require the devs to fix issues with the game design, as would improved desync right? BSG not wanting to do the work to "unravel the shit spaghetti" that they created is likely the biggest barrier to getting a demonstrably better game.

in regards to the found in raid not found in raid, just a loose thought about it while listening. What if everything you get out of raid is "in raid", regardless if you die. And whatever you buy off the flea is not in raid. This means dying with a LedX will still progress your quests line, but buying stuff off the flear can only progress your hideout or used to barter with. quests rewards should no longer be in raid, which will upset some people not being able to sell black or the weapon cases, but those are useful to an extend anyway.

PoE arguably the most "hardcore" ARPG has the same issues with 3rd party tools and lack of tutorials, if content creators didn't exist the game would be almost unplayable. This is something they are changing in PoE2 so at least they recognize it and doing something about it.

Honestly what I would want is just that they fix their game in terms of performance (meaning sound, lag, hit reg etc.) and cheaters. In 2 years it has been nearly 10 years in development and the game seemingly play worse and worse with each patch. Back in the day I didnt have to pray for my shots to land but if I would play tarkov today I would likely have a lot of hit reg problems, lag or sound bugs.

There is one huge problem with ABI claiming that they did all 3d scanning themselves. It’s RPK-16. It is a rare gun in Russia. BSG got their hands on it only thanks to their good relations with Kalashnikov Group. I know nothing about that digital magic called 3d modelling but for some reason I think that ABI did Tarkov dirty and at the very least used EVERYTHING they could as a reference to put it mildly. And did it so that it was legally their own new stuff. I mean god since when some russian MP133 shotgun that no one on this planet knew existed before Tarkov has become a standard shit tier pump action shotgun in video games? And that tacticool looking 45 degree foregrip designed specifically for PK family MGs? I think there is no way to prove that ABI stole anything otherwise Nikita would have shown it already. Or we need some leaked information from ABI developers where they are like Ooo look how we used that Tarky assets and now we are changing it so Nikita couldn’t press charges. And still the models will be slightly different so it may only help Nikita to be in a bit better position after what he pulled off with that scam edition.

It's simple really: Found in raid even should be permanent BUT.... anything that you extract with in your gamma container should NOT be allowed to be sold on the flea...That eliminates hatchet runners That eliminates the advantage better spawns. If you can't shove all the good stuff in your Gamma then it doesnt matter if you get there first. You still have to extract with it, and other players have a chance to steal any good loot from you. It would create a capture the flag type of feel. You may find the loot, but if you can't stuff it in your butt, then other people have a chance to steal it from you

I want to comment a slight disagreement with the boys here about how to balance games. They said that BSG should not tune numbers to extremes in order to compensate, however if you look at the MOBA genre that's how it SHOULD be done! In MOBAs when they move dials to the extremes they actually do follow-ups and keep contact with the community in order to reach the best middle point. Dota 2 has done this multiple times, where a patch makes a particular hero or meta extremely strong and after a few months of studying and feedback they tune them back into balance but with the stuff they added. If its more nuanced of course it takes time but they always bring it back into balance, which is why is stays alive after 10 years! BSG usually just turns the notches up to 11 and leaves for 6 months without paying any attention to what they did, and when they come after they don't get the feedback they only get the angry calls from everyone who had their feedback ignored for said 6 months.

I'ev always wanted the flea market gone since they did dynamic econ and pestily broke the traders, but I don't just want it gone I wanted the auction house to replace it and let players set items lower or at trader price. Let people bid on them or buyout at trader price, but i feel that the flea gives the game awful progression, even before found in raid salewa was 80k item on flea water was 30k and when dynamic economy was a thing the trader price followed the market. Remember pestily made the cheapest ammo the most expensive in a day and bsg took a whole year fixing the flea just to remove it later is wild. Love seeing the devs wanting to test but part of me feel were a little late for that but that just me good pod tho😀.

Erotic made a Video called "Arena Breakout IS NOT STEALING Escape from Tarkov Assets" That "convinced" me that the Models are not the same, at least the Example he has shown to proof the point. Not only does he shows differences in the Model visually but also every point of the "Edges" of a Polygon has a position number and both models have not the same positions, he can see pretty much all the numbers at once. When i say "convinced" i dont mean im running around telling the new "Truth", im still not 100% sure, but i lean more towards Arena, but to be Hones i dont even care i dont play both games :D I have no Idea about this Things, but at first i would have said it looks copied, but now i dont think so anymore, unless someone convinces me again.

Screw the labs cards. The loot on the marked rooms was lacking, not updated. Spears not spawning, a lot of guns not even able to spawn. But no, I think every key room you enter should be valuable. You earn it by getting into that room. You have to kill people to get them, and escape. I dont care if other items lose value, because loot is lacking nearly everywhere. Obviously getting loot balanced will change the market. For the better i think. Granted, having a labs card in every marked room is out of hand, but i just think you also have to mention the rest of it, otherwise they just go back to what it was, which also sucks. Safe room sucks 99% of the time. Killas stash, and 21WS isn’t even worth searching. That’s an L.

But to be honest, the worst part is there in not even wipe and most already forgot what they dont with unheard. RED was right 🙁 BSG dont need to change because people care about silly things. Thats sad
