The reason it works is because it's a smart TV. It knows your hitting it and then behavior issues get better.

I've got a black dot on my tv the size of a tennis ball. I've spent hours searching for a way to fix it. I've used every technique other the this one and the magnet one. Only other option is to shell out several hundred dollars for a repair or replacement. Since I've seen this work on numerous videos I'm going to try it.

The issue would be an led ribbon under the case that she keeps hitting. You could permanently fix the tv if you take the panel assembly out and tape down the ribbon that's causing the issue

Hahahaha.......pretty funny but it did the job. I'm experiencing the same problem but, not sure yet if I can beat up the poor TV. I did try calling the Company but didn't get any help and I was told to buy a new one. This was like almost a year ago and my Vizio TV is still working with half of the screen on the right appearing dark.

Oh my, my, my........this is HILL-AR-I-OUS!!!! My Vizio after 6 years of use and $900+ later is doing the same dog gone thing. I took it into a local shop, their solution >>>>> buy a new TV. Hmmmm. Who would of ever thought that beating it into submission was the answer, LOL. I think I'll try it. What do I have to lose, its broke anyways. Hopefully the old Fonz from Happy Days method works. That's the T-con board, in a lot of cases like this, it's just the t-cons ribbon cables, they need to be pulled out and placed back in, if not then replace the T-con board and its fixed, a very easy fix. but beating the hell out of it might just crack the screen for sure and or miss up the LED lights in the back of the TV. if your not going to do what I said, then is the Tv for sale at a cheap price for me lol

@diamond48294 жыл бұрын
Mine went dead on the top half unlike the side to side. But I still smacked it with my palm in the top left. Sure ad heck it worked. My TV is mounted on the wall but from expansion and contraction I guess the ribbons let go. Bad engineering. It's better than buying a new one and it's been stable for the day. As a repair technician of tv's i can tell you this video that the success rate of this method is low to none. The set has what's called a "tab bond" connection failure where there is an very tiny electrical connection issue inside the LCD display between the glass and the flexible connector ribbon that due to heating and cooling is just barely touching. Often by flexing or tapping the frame ( potentially) temporarily fixes the issue but it is very likely to return once the set cools down. no two sets can have the exact same kind of connection break and ability to tap or flex the frame it to make it work again is only by small chance that the connection is close enough to respond to the vibration of the "hit" to make the connection again. I can say for certain that this is NOT a reliable fix for your set. Its a small chance actually to get these results even temporarily and you stand a very high chance of striking the glass and cracking the display and then it's totally gone at that point!. Unfortunately the only true fix is to replace the LCD display which is on most sets either not economical or available for replacement.
