Thanks for this video, I realized that while cleaning the fan I must have accidentally snapped off the button. I think I’ll just use my controller to turn it on now, but now I know how to fix that if I decide to sell it.

thanks for all your extra details and help, when fixing my hdd i had messed up putting the white casing back and broke the power button. now ive got a new one and everything aligned properly and working. For all those doing it yourself its crucial you take extra care at important steps like around circuit boards and jusr watching one guy might not be enough! Watch this video !1

Just went in and tried putting oil on the fan bearing because it chirps and squeakks. Puting it back together i noticed plastic falling out. Sure enough i scrapped the power switch right off... Glad to see my controller will still turn it on so im not completely burnt. And the power board is cheap so ill have one hear soon. Thanks for the video it helped a lot and probably stopped me from jumping out a window. Lol

Mine broke down a year ago because my kid put somwthing in the disc slot and when i try to fix it and after i returned everything my start button doesnt work. Now im gonna try this one thanks so much

I just wish I found this video BEFORE I opened the console, my hand slipped cause I was on edge wishing to not break anything, and still broke the power button fixator. I just hope I can at least try to put the button back on the sensor so that it clicks with the top case.

hi i have a x box 0ne s problem, it was working fine then it started this. press on button light comes on fan spins drive starts up but in 11 seconds it turns off again. have you seen this before? i have check power 12v ok, no shorts. any idea. thanks for help. no hdmi output at this time.

what you can also do is break off the power(the one you prss that has the Xbox logo) button itself then use something metal to contact where the power button used to be before it broke off

Seen a few people with the same problem. The power button broke off, so I used my controller instead. My controller has since disconnected, so I use the disk eject button. For some reason the disk eject button only turns my Xbox on for a second. The light turns on then straight off again, fan doesn’t start. Any ideas?

What if eject button works, but not the power botton, it is sponge like. I just hope it didn't break the botton. had to clean out the fan cause it would shut off by it's self overheating. But thank you for the video. !

ironically opening the xbox would be the most probable way of breaking it. Button is very lightly attached on to board and if you hit it in any way then it will come off lol

Anyone tip for why the Xbox won't turn on when you click the power button

The power plastic is gone what do I do

So I bought a One S off someone a couple days ago and it didn't turn on sadly. One thing that I did notice though it that when I press the eject button the console would turn on but would turn off right after. After looking into this I ended up buying a new power supply as that was the typical fix to this issue but once I installed the new one nothing changed, same issue. I am noticing now that the power button on the board is snapped off, would replacing the board fix this issue?

Or you can just slap the console I slapped the console it clicks but it still doesn't do anything
