its either the motherboard if it doesn’t turn on or it could be the hard drive if it stays on for a few seconds then it turns off

@@niega-d8oif it’s an issue with the motherboard, what’s the solution? i’m having the same issue, before hand the previous power supply was making a chirping noise so i bought a replacement that i just put in now and it no longer makes a chirping sound but now won’t turn on or start up.

@@alfiek5946 Then, although not guaranteed to fix it, fitting a new PSU might solve your problem. Before you buy a replacement PSU, if you have a multimeter you can check to see if there is a short on the main power input on the motherboard - if there is not, then a new PSU will probably work, if not, you might need to follow this video which is a little more in depth - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fceXra1-yK3Hlpc.html

Hi Shahid - it should be just over 12 volts, so 11.84 does seem a little low. It is worth trying another power supply..

What’s size is the pry tool or where can I order the exact pry tool , and what size is the screw driver( if it’s not a regular flat head or Phillips screw driver) I can’t see wat kind you are using... again I don’t an will not have the Xbox 1s in my possession so I won’t to Order the right tools for her to send to her and she can do it. I know she wouldn’t be able to describe it to me accurately that’s why. Hi Philarris - the drive is a Torx type driver (a T8 or T9) and the pry tool is one of the more stronger tools as you need to have enough leverage to remove the case - I would recommend buying a kit like this - amzn.to/3qJnWrQ

As long as the pins are still attached to the motherboard, you should be able to push the black plastic housing back on again (just make sure the pins go through the correct holes)

Really depends on if the PSU is at fault. What are the symptoms?

@@TweakTips a power surge happened and whenever i turn my xbox on it trips the circuit and i have a hunch that the PSU is at fault

the xbox doesnt turn on btw, it trips the walls fuse and i have to reset it to use anything else on the wall

The black connector should stay on the motherboard, however you should be able to pop it back on - make sure the pins are straight and you have the connector the correct way round and gently slide it on back over the pins

Hi Jair - Usually if the Xbox is turning on for a few seconds, then it is an internal component that is faulty rather than the power supply. There is a chance is could be the power supply, but it is doubtful. If you are opening the Xbox, try using a multimeter to see if you can find any short circuits on the motherboard.

@@TweakTips I tried using a multimeter on the Power Supply of my Xbox One S after trying to turn it on. The results were "-.10", does this mean the Power Supply has issues? I understand the Power Supply must give the following numbers "11.93 +/- 0.3v".

@@jairruiz8499 Correct - you must get a reading of at least 11.93 volts on all three phases of the power supply. If one of them is reading below this, you have a faulty Power Supply

Make sure you have removed the screws underneath and give it a little wiggle

@@nathanschira so my Xbox would turn off after like 30 seconds to 1 min. 2 days ago I got my power supply replaced and now it works perfectly. For you it might be a hard drive issue
