How to fix your Window Chevy Cruze 2016 by replacing the Regulator

In this video I am showing how you can fix your driver window on your 2016 Chevrolet Cruze by replacing your window regulator. It is fairly simple and takes only about 30-40 minutes to do. I bought the window regulator from Chevy Dealer for $110.

Hey, I know we’ll never meet but I want to thank you for this video. My girlfriend had an issue with her 2012 Chevy Cruz and we found out that the regulators are indeed broken and the wires were all out but we were able to get the window back up in the door back on safely until we can tend to it later thank you once again from wandering nomad.

Thank you helped a lot. Just make sure all connectors click in place. I pull one the one to the motor and it was not all the way in, and had to remove the panel to connect the cable correctly.

Ughhhh, that is not good when the connectors remain loose, you have to re-do the whole panel installation process all over again. I have done that many times too in the past. Well sounds like you did good. Good Luck! Cheers!

Have you had any trouble with the clips not clamping down on the windows? I just bought a new assembly and motor and the clips don’t seem to be clamping down on the windows. I had it installed and it fell right off the clamps

What’s the name of the tool you used to tighten the bolt around the clamps that the window sits in?

How did you take out the connector cord for the side mirror that goes through the plastic sheet?

It is very simple. I squeezed on the connector tab, squeezed the tab down and pulled it out. Then removed the connector. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I recently had the driver side window regulator replaced. Now the car horn wont chirp when locked remotely. The inside dome light stays on. So i have to manually push the light to off and then the car chirps. Driving me nuts.

Hello David. The old window regulator wires that pulled the window up and down were all jammed and not re-usable. Fixing the old one did not look possible at all in this case. So that is why I simply replaced it with a new one. Hope it helps. Good luck. Let me know how it goes!

@@fixit3879 I think David is making the point that the video does not show how to replace the steel cables if a cable replacement kit is purchased. It appears that you merely brought and installed a manufactured regulator kit were the steel cables were already installed.

They don't make parts like that very fixable. These mechanics and handyman are giving trade secrets out to for you to save money.

You cant "fix" a broken cable. You replace it-as a whole regulator unit - as shown.

Should of bought the regulator off amazon it was only 80 something. Just replaced mine two days ago and only have 35,000 some miles on it.

This just happened to my 2014 Cruz driver window only won't roll up. Do you know what is the problem?

Well Norma if I could check your 2014 Cruze in person, I might be able to tell. Do you hear jamming noise? Is the up and down button damaged? It can also be a burned or jammed or broken window regulator motor. Sometimes the window maybe stopped by dirt, so just cleaning it may help too. It is hard to tell. So tell me if there is any noise or silence when you try to roll it up? Thanks, good luck!

If the clips are the ONLY thing broken, why spend all that $$$ to replace the entire assembly? Seems wasteful to me unless there is a valid reason.

True but the other parts made of plastic also get worn out thats how mine is I got the regulator working wires are good but all the plasitc parts are no good including the the plastic wheels

Sometimes the wires get mangled to, making it impossible to get them wind backup in their grooves. Thanks GM engineers

Looks like the plastic clips weren't the problem. Looks like the wires got at screwed up inside the motor. You can see the end of the wire that goes into the motor at beginning of video. Best to replace whole thing. Not worth fixing

It would have been really nice if you started from the beginning and showed how you took the panel off how you took the regulated theIt would have been really nice if you started from the beginning and showed how you took the panel off how you took the old regulator out and showed what was wrong in there not laying on a garage floor and then going back to the steps at you should have showed on the video in the beginning poor poor planning
