There is a secret tool to help you find the courage to follow your heart. Patrick A. Lynch shares what it is, and how he discovered it on the path to following his own. Patrick is an attorney with an MBA with over twenty years of experience in non-profit leadership, corporate healthcare and and government relations. By the age of 18, he was also a two-time cancer survivor and bone marrow transplant recipient. Through invaluable life experience at an early age, developed skills that can be used by all of us, helping tackle challenges in our professional and personal lives. Today’s talk shares a secret exercise that helps amplify our ability to listen to, and follow, our hearts desires.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Awesome talk Patrick! I as fellow survivor, I can totally relate to facing the real possibility of one's own funeral. There is nothing like facing death to teach you how to love life. You probably did this before your marathon? (For those who don't know: Yes, he just completed the Disney World Marathon in January!!) That accomplishment highlights your message. Blessings bro!

I hate the fact that a lot of Christians have such a negative opinion of "follow your heart" because of Jeremiah 17:9-10: "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" I feel that following it is not bad as long as it doesn't lead to sin.

Within a state of grace, it may not be YOUR heart that you are listening to, but that of a Higher Power… this is why it’s so interesting to think of the different words used to describe this same idea.
