I’m so glad someone is talking about problems other than infidelity, because a lot of couples are incredibly loyal to each other, but they do wrong each other in other ways.

Exactly isn’t it annoying when all people talk about is cheating as if that’s the only thing out there that can be done to cause hurt?

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. My partner is incredibly loyal and incredibly loving, but he hurt me through some very poor judgment. I love him more than life itself, but I also struggle every day to forgive him. Your words really comfort me. Thank you.

Do you think that when you have forgiven someone then you are required to spend time with them? Required to resume the relationship with them? Just forgiveness always mean that you have to reconnect? Sometimes it is unhealthy to be with someone even though you forgiven them.

What you are speaking to is restoration. Forgiveness can lead to restoration but in some situation eg a continious abusive relationship then no one should live in such a space. However, if we forgive like we are forgiven by Jesus our relationship with Him is restorted. John 21:16-25
